Godot 4.8 dev 1 is a dev snapshot for the 4.8 feature release. Dev snapshots are in-development builds of the engine provided for early testing and feature evaluation while the engine is still being worked on.

Built from commit ebbf577a041d1ab8d7824b6f90e7d0575461ca45.
To make a custom build which would also be recognized as dev1, you should define GODOT_VERSION_STATUS=dev1 in your build environment prior to compiling.
