Activity and Repository Health

The Activity tab is a dashboard for a repository — useful for getting your bearings in a project you don't work in every day.
- A stats strip summarizing the repository at a glance.
- A commit-activity heatmap (calendar style, similar to GitHub's contribution graph).
- A contributors chart and a commit-velocity chart.
- A file-churn list (which files change the most).
- A language breakdown.
A dedicated card flags things worth knowing about:
- Branches that have gone stale (no activity past a configurable number of days)
- Commits you haven't pushed yet
- Whether your working tree is clean
- A warning if loose objects have built up past a threshold, suggesting it's time to clean up
Two actions live in the Nav Pane rather than the dashboard itself:
-
Check integrity — runs Git's own consistency check (
fsck) and reports back either "healthy" or the specific issues found. -
Run cleanup — runs garbage collection (
gc) to tidy up the repository's storage.
