Open Settings from the gear icon in the header, or jump to it from Quick Switch (⌘K/Ctrl+K).
- Theme: Light, Dark, or System.
- Branch lane color theme: Default, Vivid, or Muted, with a live preview.
- Your global name and email (a repository-specific identity, set when committing, overrides this).
- Path to the Git executable — Current Client needs at least Git 2.23.
- Toggle Conventional Commits on or off. Turning it off hides the commit-type picker and the Changelog tab; History still shows detected types either way.
- Your preferred external editor.
- A default folder for the Open/Clone dialogs to start from.
- Whether whitespace-only changes are ignored by default in the diff viewer.
- Background fetch interval — off by default, so nothing reaches the network unless you ask it to.
Author badge colors are assigned automatically and consistently, but you can override any author's color here, or from the color swatch on a commit's detail panel. Overrides can be reset at any time.
A Diagnostics button copies your app and Git version, OS, and the last 20 errors shown to the clipboard, for sharing when troubleshooting. Repository paths are deliberately left out, and nothing is ever sent anywhere automatically.
