Compiling mayaToMantra is somewhat more complicated than the others. The sources divide in two parts, one is the maya plugin, the other is the Houdini object saver.

Houdini object saver

Current version: Houdini 12 If you want to compile it for an older version, take care to use the correct Visual Studio version, eg. for Houdini 11 it's VS 2005. The purpose of the HoudiniObjectSaver is to convert the objects, saved by the plugin in my famous hsff (haggi's super file format) to native houdini .geo or .bgeo files.

What you need is:

  • Visual Studio 2008 (for windows only of course)
  • boost library ( I used 1.46)
  • any Houdini 12 version ( apprentice, HD, full)

  • Maya 2013 64bit
  • boost library, for VS 2010
  • Visual Studio 2010
