Might have something similar, also on intel. In my case the following apps sometimes crash:
If that's the case for you too, I'd recommend changing the title to something like "Fast Output (dis)connects crash various programs" |

This should now be really easy to replicate on |

Describe the bug
The hypr* ecosystem crashes when the HDMI is quickly disconnected/connected from the monitor when changing monitor input (from the monitor OSD)
Edit: Not only the hypr ecosystem crashed, many other applications crash.
Reproduction steps
In the initial state monitor input is set to Display Port and is showing a different PC. A HDMI cable is plugged in on the second input of the monitor.
Then I plug in the HDMI cable on the Hyprland machine, it detects the monitor and switches to the multi monitor setup. the monitor still displays the Display port input. After some seconds I go and switch the monitor input to HDMI. The switch works, but some of the the hypr* ecosystem crashes, including hyprpapr (all wallpapers gone). Hyprland is still working fine.

AI found that the issue is the fast reconnection of the HDMI connection with the same name (use after free, dangling pointer). I can confirm this patch fixes the issue: https://github.com/falkkyburz/Hyprland/commit/c478e569b3ef667a0737321c73aa53ee27b5e3d2
