Tailoring Armor into Clothes

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to transform standard armor pieces into custom clothing.

Prerequisites

For crafting recipes of custom items and blocks, check out the Crafting Recipes page!

  • Armor to tailor (Vanilla or MOD armor are both supported)
  • Design Pattern item
  • Red, Blue, and Green Dyes (Vanilla items)
  • Design Bench (Block)
  • Tailoring Bench (Block)

Quick Workflow Overview

  1. Prepare a Pattern and draw your design.
  2. Place the Pattern and Armor into the Tailoring Bench to craft your custom clothing!

Step 1: Prepare a Pattern

Craft the "Design Pattern" with paper and a black dye.

Step 2: Create Your Design

  1. Interact with the Design Bench.
  2. Place the prepared Pattern into the top-left slot of the Design Bench, then select the part you want to design. The grid for that specific clothing part will appear in the editor, allowing you to start drawing.
  3. Draw your design! This is where your creativity shines. If you get stuck or want a standard base, click the "TEMPLATES" button on the bottom-left to load a template for that part. For details on editor usage, see the Editor Page.
  4. Save your design using the button at the bottom-right of the editor. Optionally, you can name your pattern using the input field above the save button.

Step 3: Tailor the Armor

  1. Interact with the Tailoring Bench.
  2. Insert: ① Pattern, ② Armor, and ③ Red, Blue, and Green Dyes into the Tailoring Bench. Note that 1 dye refills 100 units of ink, and each color tank can hold up to 3,200 units of ink.
  3. Once you have enough ink, click the "Tailor" button at the bottom-right to complete the process. Optionally, you can specify a name and serial number for the clothing using the input field above the button.
