- iPhone: App Store (coming), or a test build installed with AltStore.
- Android: Google Play (coming), or a test APK.
The app asks a few things, once:
- Location, while using the app. It shows your position and checks GPS against the car. It never leaves the phone, and the app never asks for "Always" access.
- Connect your car. If you have an OBD-II adapter, plug it in and connect now; otherwise tap Skip for now.
- Put the phone in a holder. Without GPS the phone itself feels every turn the car makes; in a firm holder it keeps the direction right for a long time. Any angle works, upright or flat. Picked up for a moment? It catches up.
There is no online map. Pick your oblast, or all of Ukraine, and download it on Wi-Fi. One download holds the map, the roads the app uses to find the car, and address search. See Offline maps.
- A map of the region you drive in.
- Adapter in, ignition on: the car button turns green.
- Phone in the holder.
- Open wtf.ai before you set off. It follows the car from the first metre and remembers where you park.
- On long drives, keep the phone charging: the map keeps the screen on.
There is nothing to calibrate. The app learns your car and phone on the way.
