The status pill: can GPS be trusted?

At the top of the map. The app checks every GPS position against the car's wheel speed and turns before using it.

Status What is happening You
Trusted GPS agrees with the car Keep driving normally
Approximate No satellites, only a Wi-Fi or cell position: a rough idea, not for driving by Standing and the dot is wrong? Put the car on the map
No signal GPS is jammed. The dot keeps moving on wheel speed and the phone's turns, kept on roads Keep driving normally
Spoofed GPS jumped somewhere the car can't have driven. The app ignores it Trust the blue dot, not the grey one
Checking Satellites are back and are checked against the car for a few seconds Keep driving normally

Tap the pill for details. Putting the car on the map: see When GPS fails.

The dot and the circle

The car is somewhere in the circle; a bigger circle means less sure. Blue: the position is trusted. Yellow with a dashed circle: estimated. When the app is unsure between two roads side by side, it shows the other one as a hollow ring, and the next turn settles it.
