Maut code v1.0.9 — fix dark activity-bar block + lighter cream
Two bug fixes since v1.0.8
- The dark block at the top-left of the activity bar (light mode) is gone. It was the active activity-bar icon's background falling back to a stray dark color because
activityBarTop.activeBackgroundwasn't explicitly themed. Now allactivityBarTop.*tokens (background / foreground / activeBackground / activeBorder / inactiveForeground) get explicit Maut-light values, andactivityBar.activeBackgroundis pinned transparent. - Light mode no longer looks 'pink-overcast'. Accent mix in chrome dropped from 4% to 2%, border mix 8%→6%. The Maut crimson still carries through borders/active states, but the chrome reads as warm paper rather than rosé.

Maut code v1.0.8 — branded light + clean tabs
What changed since v1.0.7
Light mode now actually feels like Maut Light — chrome (sidebar / statusbar / titlebar / borders) carries a subtle accent tint mixed into the cream, so the UI reads as branded instead of "VS Code Light Modern with a red border".
- Bumped chrome contrast and mixed ~4–8% accent into chrome / border surfaces.
- New default light tint (
#fbf6ec) — warmer paper tone. Fresh installs get this; existing installs keep their saved tint but still get the new chrome formula. - Studio tab buttons dropped the muddy 'EDIT' subtitle (was rendering low-contrast on the red active state). Tab UI is now
Light/Darkwith the active one highlighted in solid red, white text, hard-coded foreground so it can't render as dim-on-red.

Maut code v1.0.7 — Theme Studio discoverability + first-run defaults
What changed since v1.0.6
Where is the Studio? Click the eye icon in the activity bar (left edge) — Theme Studio sits next to Maut Activity. Or hit ⇧⌘T. Or click 🎨 Theme in the bottom-right status bar.
Fixes
- Studio is actually discoverable now. v1.0.6 redeclared the
mautviewsContainer, which shadowed Maut Activity's container and hid Theme Studio. v1.0.7 just contributes the view to the existing container so both show up together. - Status bar entry is back.
🎨 Themeon the right of the status bar opens the Maut sidebar AND focuses Theme Studio in one click. - First-run defaults apply automatically. On a fresh install (or fresh user-data dir), the Crimson dark palette + JetBrains Mono get applied immediately — no need to find the studio first. You see the JetBrains feel out of the box.
- One-time welcome toast points at the eye icon so you don't have to hunt for the panel.
- Active snapshot is re-applied on every startup, so settings.json drift can't leave the workbench half-themed.

Maut code v1.0.6 — sidebar Studio + workbench font
What's new since v1.0.5
- Theme Studio is now a sidebar view (lives in the Maut activity bar container, same place as Maut Activity). No more editor tab — it stays pinned to the left like the file tree.
- Light + Dark configured separately, both remembered. Pick your accent / surface tone / font for Dark, switch the tab, pick a different scheme for Light. ⇧⌘L flips between your two saved configs without clobbering either.
- Font choice cascades to the whole UI now. Sidebar, tabs, menus, command palette, status bar — they all switch to the chosen font (e.g. JetBrains Mono). Patched
workbench.tsreadsmaut.workbenchFontFamily/maut.workbenchFontSizeon startup and on change. - Font also applied to debug console, scm input, notebook output, markdown preview, chat editor.
- Active-mode banner in the studio shows which mode is live and provides a Swap button (= ⇧⌘L).
- Studio respects the sidebar's narrow width — controls + presets re-flow.

Maut code v1.0.5 — Theme Studio + Fetch button
🎨 Theme Studio (new)
Open with the Theme button in the status bar or ⇧⌘T.
- Live picker for mode (light/dark), accent colour, surface tone, font and size
- 5 polished presets bundled (Crimson dark, Midnight blue, Forest, Sand light, Paper light)
- Save / load / delete your own named themes
- Export and import as JSON
- ⇧⌘L still flips light↔dark instantly
Light mode rebuilt from the ground up — chrome (sidebar / statusbar / titlebar) now has visible depth, list selections use accent tint, find matches glow with the accent, git decorations are properly tuned for both modes.
⬇️ Fetch button (new)
Companion to the existing commit/push button, sits next to it on the status bar.
Click → pick remote → pick branch → fetch + pull. If the pull hits a conflict, a quick-pick offers:
- Stash & pull — stash untracked changes, pull, pop the stash
- Reset --hard — throw away local work and match the remote exactly
- Cancel
