GRAPHICS

• The AI designs on purpose now. It gets thinking time, sees the actual video
  frame its graphic has to sit on, and loads fonts the renderer can honour, so
  results are composed for your shot instead of guessed. Opus 5 replaces Haiku
  as the model behind drafts and edits.
• Props became editable fields. A preset built from your own code exposes its
  props as editable fields automatically, and when a refine adds a new prop,
  the field to edit it appears with it.
• Copy prompt hands another LLM a full brief so it can write an importable
  .tsx for you — including the fact that props become editable fields.
• Imported components can declare their own length, the app says what got
  baked, and an edit's token budget is now sized to the component it has to
  rewrite (long components stopped getting truncated mid-rewrite).

INGEST & RESOLVE

• Ingest leaves Resolve on the timeline you were working on, and the reference
  frame grab hands your page back when it's done — no more being bounced to a
  different timeline or page mid-session.

ARCHIVE INDEX

• Archive clips were analysed at a fraction of ingest quality; they now run
  through the same describe path as everything else. Re-run a reset to
  re-analyse existing archive footage at full quality.

FIXES

• AI queues no longer offer a Resolve resync for analysis that never happened.

Assistant Editor

• Gapless rough cuts — the frame math now matches what Resolve actually
  places, so cuts land back-to-back; per-cut clip markers became an opt-in
  toggle.
• Your ask sets the plan's shape: enumerated feedback runs as a literal
  work order with a coverage receipt, revisions see the full transcript and
  clip intel, and beats follow the fewest sections the job needs (chat can
  merge or remove them).
• B-roll judges the picture, not the microphone — a visual beauty score,
  motion direction / push-in awareness, and log footage no longer reads as
  "bad"; clip signals now actually reach the b-roll decisions.
• New Format control for social cuts (with a shorts dissolve) and a
  footage-sources union; the target field got a cleaner UX.
• Graphics render and place at build time — "Suggest graphics" grew into
  "Build graphics"; b-roll no longer stacks on one track.
• The planner reads each clip as one unified timeline, a capability contract
  stops it refusing work the app can do, and the editor profile starts
  learning what survives of each plan after you edit.

Graphics

• Renders place at the playhead, not the timeline head; the AI can draw
  arrows and follows the same shape rules when editing as when generating.
• Dialogs open matched to the project's timeline; bring-your-own TSX code and
  assets; drafts auto-open the refine window; Studio + rename fixes.

Search & Import

• Instant results from the index, cancellable search, ~130× faster
  archive scanning, and an all-words fallback when the exact phrase misses.
• Playhead output option, ingest parity from sidecars, one parent bin.

Resolve & reliability

• Default timelines stay colour managed (custom settings no longer reset
  colour science) with new resolution/fps defaults in Settings.
• Ingest can add imported clips straight to the open timeline.
• Resync stays in its lane: audio-blind pool scan, foreign-clip sweep, and no
  more switching to unverified timelines.
• The app fails loud if a cloud-sync fork replaces the database mid-session,
  and can recover topics by replaying its logs.
• Folder presets follow drives, not letters.

Assistant Editor

• Fixed the 1-frame black gaps between b-roll clips on track 2 — overlay b-roll now self-corrects placement the way the main track always has.
• Reopen saved plans: a new "Plans" menu lists every saved plan and reopens it with its brief and settings restored — come back later, adjust, rebuild. Every toggle/swap saves back automatically.
• Readable beats: take transcripts render larger and brighter with much more text; hover for the full transcript and why the take was picked.
• "Cover this" gap fill, timeline-aware revisions, and per-cut reason markers on stringouts.
• No-limit target: a 0:00 target includes every clip that fits the brief; the target field is now m:ss.
• Honest model routing: picking Opus/Sonnet in the planner really uses it, even when the app-wide provider is Ollama/OpenAI.

Clip analysis (Rich descriptions)

• Time-windowed describes with finer timestamped events, fused into a single clip summary.

• Mid-run recalibration when the GPU frees up; VLM caps adjustable in Settings. Search-index jobs drain before describes.

Settings & privacy

Clip metadata finally reaches Resolve

• Fixed the silent metadata failure: descriptions, tags, mood, shot type,
  speakers, and the clip alias now actually land on your Resolve clips.
  Analysis markers land too.
• Resync backfills every synced clip with its metadata + markers — and skips
  clips whose metadata hasn't changed, so repeat resyncs are fast.
• Markers now appear on clips already placed on the timeline, not just in
  the source viewer.
• When all analysis finishes, the app offers a resync so the fresh metadata
  lands without you remembering to.

New: Rewalk timeline

• A second button in Resync builds a fresh versioned time-of-day timeline
  with every clip trimmed to its steady gyro range and analysis markers on
  the timeline clips. Your original timeline is never touched, and your own
  Save In-Out marks always win over the gyro trim.

Timestamped transcripts for clients

• "Copy transcript" in the clip inspector and "Export transcripts..." in the
  YouTube tool produce readable, [MM:SS]-stamped paragraphs with blank lines
  between sections — ready to paste or send.

Rough Cut cleanup

• "Keep original tracks" replaces "Preserve multicam": clips stay on the
  tracks they came from, gaps are removed, overlaps are preserved exactly.
• The b-roll cap and stability-trim toggles moved into the Rough Cut dialog;
  the automatic music-bed drop is gone (use the Music tool).

Fixes and speed

• Descriptions no longer fail en masse when transcription still owns the
  GPU — they wait and retry automatically.
• Clip placement during ingest is faster.
• Fixed the dead "Open sidecar" button, and the backup/project tiles that
  showed "0 clips" right after a finished ingest.

Your profile now sets up your tools

• The Files only / Everyday / Power choice also decides which tool tiles
  start enabled — Files only gets the non-AI editing and organizing tools;
  Everyday adds Thumbnail Lab; Power gets everything including YouTube
  publishing. Nothing is removed: hidden tools stay in Manage tools, and
  toggling them never breaks your profile.

Index Archive Footage, polished

• The archive window can finally go behind the main window — it's a
  long-running tool; let it run in the background.
• The dialog shrinks back when you collapse Analysis options and the
  progress bar is a clean slim strip (no more half-clipped percentage).
• The describe queue's engine label tells the truth about which model ran,
  and failed describes stay pending instead of silently latching done.

Editing & search fixes

• Speed Ramp, New timeline version and Save In/Out are greyed out until a
  project is open instead of failing quietly.
• Search & Import gains a search-scope picker and a tidier advanced panel.
• The Tag tool no longer freezes the app and correctly finds the current

Setup, radically simplified

• One question configures the whole AI stack — Files only / Everyday /
  Power. Your choice pre-selects the models, description tier, transcription
  size and analysis defaults; everything stays adjustable underneath.
• New optional backup location step completes the first cycle
  (organize → store → back up), and an optional API key row adds cloud-
  refined metadata for pennies — the local AI runs either way.
• Setup opens instantly (a model check used to freeze it for ~10 seconds).

Clip descriptions up to 3× faster

• The Fast tier runs a lighter model at a smarter resolution — measured
  ~13 s/clip on a 256-clip shoot that previously took ~40 s/clip.
• Pick any model size per tier (2B → 32B) from the new per-tier download
  rows with size accordions, live download progress, and Activity Log
  milestones. Downloads no longer wait behind running analysis.
• Fixed a deadlock that could silently freeze ALL AI analysis behind one
  clip after switching description models.

Ingest you can trust at a glance

• Three clear progress bars — copying, backing up (only when a backup
  drive is set), and placing in Resolve — each with real counts and a
  green "safe to close" state.
• Placing clips in Resolve no longer slows down as big cards fill the
  bin (an O(N²) per-clip rescan is gone).
• Honest numbers everywhere: clips vs files (sidecars counted separately)
  in the project and backup cards, and backup coverage that isn't inflated
  by thumbnails or camera proxies.

Find a song: describe the vibe

• New "Describe the vibe (AI)" search — write what the scene feels
  like; the AI turns it into mood/genre/tempo searches (plus "sounds like"
  a real song) and blends the results. Works fully locally.

• Signed installer (per-user, clean uninstall) — the new first-install
  download alongside the zip.
