Configuration

Nourished is designed to work out of the box with minimal setup. Most players will never need to edit configuration files manually.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Almost every setting can be changed in-game through Cloth Config.

๐ŸŽฎ Opening the Configuration Menu

Options โ†’ Mod Options โ†’ Nourished

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ HUD & Display

The nutrition HUD is fully customizable. See HUD & Display for all options.

Press H in-game to enter HUD edit mode.

๐Ÿฅ— Nutrition System

Nourished tracks five nutritional groups:

Nutrient Description
๐ŸŒพ Grains Bread, rice, pasta, baked goods
๐Ÿฅฆ Vegetables Crops, greens, vegetables
๐Ÿฅฉ Proteins Meat, fish, eggs, protein-rich foods
๐ŸŽ Fruits Fruit and fruit-based foods
๐Ÿฅ› Dairy Milk, cheese, yogurt, butter

Maintaining a balanced diet provides passive bonuses while neglecting categories may result in penalties.

โš™๏ธ Module Toggles

Every Nourished feature can be toggled independently:

  • Nutrition decay
  • Effects (buffs and penalties)
  • HUD display
  • Toasts and notifications
  • Calorie tracking
  • Diet Screen
  • Raw food penalties
  • Eating at full hunger (blockHeavyMeals, blockLightFood)

Modpack authors can lock modules server-side via datapack. See Datapack Support.

โš™๏ธ Scanner & Cache Data

Nourished uses MarieLib's scanner to classify foods. Generated data is stored in:

config/nourished/

Rebuilding Classification Data

If classifications appear outdated after updating:

  1. Delete config/nourished/scanner_spec.json
  2. Launch Minecraft and load into your world
  3. Run /nourished invalidatecache
  4. Rejoin the world

โš ๏ธ Recommended after updating between 0.2.x beta versions.

For scanner diagnostics, see the MarieLib wiki.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Datapack Overrides

Override nutrient classifications immediately through datapacks โ€” no mod update required. See Datapack Support.

๐Ÿ”ง Troubleshooting

Food shows incorrect nutrients

  1. Rebuild scanner data (see above)
  2. Check for conflicting datapack overrides
  3. Run /nourished debug held โ€” see MarieLib Diagnostics
  4. Report the item on GitHub

HUD isn't visible

  • Verify HUD is enabled in config
  • Check hide-threshold settings
  • Press H and reposition the HUD
