Using Roblox Icons for Your Shortcuts

NexusStrap can extract and use the official Roblox game icons for your desktop shortcuts.

How It Works

When you create a game shortcut through NexusStrap, it automatically downloads the game's official icon from Roblox and applies it to the shortcut.

Extracting Icons

During Shortcut Creation

  1. Open NexusStrap Settings
  2. Go to Shortcuts in the sidebar
  3. Enable Extract Icons
  4. Create a new shortcut for any game
  5. The icon will be automatically applied

Extracting for Existing Shortcuts

If you already have shortcuts that don't have icons:

  1. Go to Shortcuts in Settings
  2. Enable Extract Icons
  3. NexusStrap will update existing shortcuts with proper icons

Shortcut Types

NexusStrap can create shortcuts for:

  • Desktop shortcuts — On your Windows desktop
  • Start Menu shortcuts — In the Windows Start Menu
  • Player icon — A dedicated Roblox Player shortcut
  • Studio icon — A dedicated Roblox Studio shortcut
  • Settings icon — A shortcut to NexusStrap settings

Troubleshooting

Icons Not Appearing

  1. Make sure Extract Icons is enabled in Shortcuts settings
  2. Check your internet connection (icons are downloaded from Roblox)
  3. Try creating the shortcut again

Wrong Icon

Sometimes Roblox returns a generic icon instead of the game-specific one:

  1. This is a Roblox server-side issue
  2. Try again later
  3. The shortcut will still work, just without the custom icon
