v1.3.3 - Installer UX Hardening
This patch release improves installer reliability and first-run UX.\n\nKey fixes:\n- Linux installer no longer hard-depends on sudo and now prints an exact runnable path when INSTALL_DIR is not on PATH\n- Windows installer now resolves the latest release tag through Invoke-RestMethod, curl, then gh, with validation of parsed tag values\n- Windows installer refreshes the current session PATH after installing GitHub CLI through winget\n- README now includes a safer PowerShell fallback example using -UseBasicParsing for older PowerShell environments\n\nValidation:\n- bash -n scripts/install_linux_binary.sh\n- go test ./...\n- go vet ./...\n- go build ./cmd/rustdesk-friendly
v1.3.2 - Lifecycle Validation And Confirmation Hardening
This patch release hardens lifecycle validation and confirmation flows.\n\nKey fixes:\n- keep Windows service conflicts blocking and make Linux takeovers explicitly restart systemd units\n- prevent direct live-verify confirmation shortcuts and require matching verification state\n- refresh verification JSON/Markdown on confirm while preserving manual notes\n- fail confirm-live-verify before mutating the archive when verification reports are missing or invalid\n- keep diagnose non-disruptive on existing Linux services while still running read-only validation\n- tighten archive extraction safety and service detection logic\n\nValidation:\n- go test ./...\n- go vet ./...\n- go build ./cmd/rustdesk-friendly\n- go test -race ./...
v1.3.1 - Restore Path Preservation Fix
RustDesk Friendly v1.3.1 fixes a restore-path bug found during internal self-review.
Fixed:
- restore no longer flattens bundle paths by basename
- runtime, policy, service, and log snapshot artifacts are restored into preserved metadata paths
- bundle metadata files no longer overwrite each other during restore
- restore now prefers already-restored app binaries before forcing a target-side download
Validation:
- go test ./...
- go vet ./...
- go build ./cmd/rustdesk-friendly
v1.3.0 - Lifecycle Hardening And Safe Restore Validation
RustDesk Friendly v1.3.0 closes the remaining lifecycle hardening gaps from the v2.5 plan.
Included:
- archive whitelist enforcement and per-file manifest hash validation
- runtime and policy snapshots in backup bundles
- executable preflight checks for writable paths, free space, service conflicts, and port conflicts
- executable acceptance checks for binaries, required data, service state, and listening ports
- real log retention policy application for Linux and Windows flows
- diagnose-repair now performs concrete repair actions instead of diagnostics only
- isolated live-verify now uses separate validation ports and service arguments instead of only renaming services

v1.2.5 - Live Verify Confirmation Command
Adds a dedicated live-verify confirmation command and exports standalone client validation template files.
Changes:
- new command: rustdesk-friendly apply confirm-live-verify --archive --verification-dir
- verification runs now export standalone client template files for Windows, Linux, and macOS
- wizard confirmation path now reuses the same archive confirmation logic instead of re-running restore state mutation
v1.2.4 - Client Validation Templates
Adds client validation templates and manual validation record fields to verification reports.
Changes:
- verification reports now include Windows, Linux, and macOS client-side validation templates
- verification reports now include structured manual validation record fields for audit handoff
- verification instructions remain aligned with isolated live-restore service names and directories
v1.2.3 - Reports And Validation Guidance
Adds report export and more concrete validation guidance.
Changes:
- backup now writes rustdesk-friendly-backup-report.json and .md beside the archive
- restore/live-verify now writes .rustdesk-friendly-verification-report.json and rustdesk-friendly-verification-report.md in the target or isolated validation directory
- verification output now includes more explicit client-side validation steps and isolated service names
v1.2.2 - Backup To Live Verify Flow
Adds the missing backup-to-live-verification flow.
Changes:
- interactive backup now offers immediate isolated live-restore verification on the current host
- restore output now prints explicit verification instructions and isolated service names
- apply backup supports --live-verify for local isolated verification setup
- backup output now prints detected data/install/log directories
- keeps source backup read-only while allowing operator-confirmed promotion to live_restore_verified
v1.2.1 - Backup Manifest Fix
Fixes a Windows backup crash when the detected log directory is recorded in the manifest.
Change:
- directory entries in the backup manifest are now stored as metadata-only entries instead of being hashed like regular files
- adds a regression test for directory manifest entries
v1.2.0 - High Availability Lifecycle
RustDesk Friendly v2.5 lifecycle release.
Highlights:
- execution-first lifecycle actions: new service, backup/migrate, restore service, diagnose/repair
- read-only source backup with structured manifest and restore validation
- staging restore, rollback-aware flow, isolated live-restore verification, and archive verification marking
- runtime detection and support matrix for Linux amd64/arm64/armv7, Windows amd64/arm64, macOS amd64/arm64
- upstream RustDesk Server binary acquisition for missing target binaries
- managed service execution for Linux systemd and Windows NSSM/pm2/sc with automatic preference order
- updated Linux and Windows installer scripts for supported architectures
