Building Titanium for MacOS 10.4 (Tiger)

As of Mar 8 2009, Titanium can be built for Tiger. Due to some design considerations of WebKit, WebKit for 10.4 does not run properly for 10.5 and WebKit for 10.5 does not run or even compile for 10.4. But for those needing a version of Titanium for 10.4, it can be built relatively painlessly.

In the working folder for the Titanium version of WebKit, change line 27 of build.py, from “build_flags_10_5” to “build_flags_10_4”.

Build webkit. If you are having problems with building, try from a clean working folder.

Move the resulting 10.4-friendly WebKit frameworks to kroll/thirdparty/osx/webkit within your working folder for Titanium.

Open the WebKit.framework, and remove the “Frameworks” alias.

In the working folder of Titanium, change line 78 of titanium’s SConscript to “is10_4 = 1”.

Build Titanium and the test app. The resulting app should run on MacOS 10.4 on both PowerPC and Intel Macs.
