As soon as the game starts, the first screen that the player is able to see is the message of “Licensed by Nintendo”, written using the main in-game font, followed by a short video in which the Capcom logo appears and disappears using a transition effect.

After this transition, the game title shows up, it gets closer, the company name and release date appear in screen, and the subtitle “The World Warrior” comes together using a transition, giving visibility to the title screen.

It is then when, in order to play the game, the player has to press the “Start” button. However if he or she waits long enough, a new screen will be shown, revealing some information of one of the playable characters, and a gameplay video will be played. This video matches the previous character with another playable fighter at random and, along with the previous screen, gives an idea of how this character is and how it plays.

After that, and before returning to the title screen, an initial ranking will appear showing the high scores set by the developers.

Once the “Start” button is pressed, the player accesses a new screen, where he or she can choose in which mode wants to play.

If the user chooses the option “Game Start”, he or she will be redirected to the character selection for the arcade mode. This screen consists of a world map containing all the characters home stages, the renders of all playable characters and a bigger render of the character selected in the right. Once a character is chosen by the player, a little animation will occur, where an airplane moves across the map and goes to one of the locations previously mentioned in order to start the fight.

Following the previous screen and before the start of every battle, a screen will appear showing the render of the characters that will take part in the fight.

After each fight, a similar screen will appear, regardless of the result, in which the render of the character that lost the fight will display that same character in a poor state (injured, crying…), and a text will show up, containing a mocking message from the character that won.

If the player is the one who won the fight, the previously mentioned character selection screen will emerge. This time, however, the render of the character who lost will be black and white, a big “X” will cover the stage of the loser, and the airplane will fly automatically to the next location. These same actions will happen after the end of every fight up until the end of the game.

But, if it is the player the one who lost, he or she will be redirected to a new screen that will initiate a countdown (starting form 9) before the game over screen.

If the player doesn’t press the “Start” button within those seconds, the game over screen will appear and he or she will be redirected to the ranking with updated records of the game before been send again to the title screen.

On the other hand, if the “Start” is pressed, the character selection will emerge and the user will have the opportunity to select any of the playable characters, even the one who was using, in order to keep playing.

After defeating every opponent in the arcade, even the secret bosses, and winning the game, the player will be treated with one of the different endings in the game, depending on the difficulty. If the player reaches the end on the lowest difficulty levels, a screen will appear, giving the congratulations to the player and encouraging him or her to play higher difficulty levels with a message.
.jpg?raw=true)
If the player, however completes the game on the highest difficulty levels and without using a continue, after defeating the final boss, he or she will be treated with an ending sequence, which varies according to the character used, followed by the credits and a the real congratulations screen, which consist of picture of all the characters in the game, even the non-playable ones, and the word “Congratulations”. If the player has completed the game on the highest difficulty levels but has used a continue, the previous picture will only show the playable characters.

Finally, before sending the player to the title screen, the game will show the ranking with updated records.
If the option “Vs Battle” is chosen in the title screen, a character selection screen will appear, slightly different than the one in the arcade mode, where instead of the world map there are the Vs records, which track the followings statistics of the Vs mode for both in-game characters and for both players:
- Wins
- Losses
- Draws
- Knockout by Special atacks (Ryu's and Ken's Hadouken, Chun-Li's Spinning Bird Kick...)
.jpg?raw=true)
After both players have chosen their respective fighter, a new screen will emerge. In this new screen, the players are allowed to choose the stage in where they want to fight, as well as their attack power.
.jpg?raw=true)
As soon as the player 1 presses the start button in this screen, both players immediately start to fight, unlike the arcade mode. Once the fight ends, however a new screen will emerge showing the win-loss ratio of every character and every player.
.jpg?raw=true)
If, in this screen, either player presses the “Start” button, both of them will be sent to the previous character selection screen. However, if one of them presses the “Select” button, new options of the Vs Mode will be shown, which will let them continue fighting (Continue), go to the title screen without resetting the Vs Records (Quit), or go to the title screen after reseting the Vs Records (Reset Records).

If the “Option Mode” is chosen in the title screen, a new screen will emerge which lets the players do the following actions:
- Set The Difficulty Level of the AI
- Activate or deactivate the time limit in the battles
- Change the button configuration
- Change the sound of the game
- Listen to the music of the game
- Listen to the specials effects of the game
