Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a product of xAI, Cursor, or Apple. Uses official Grok Bot meters only.
What's new in 0.3.0
- Coffee theme. Settings → Theme switches the weekly meter from the system bar to a metal cup that fills with your weekly usage. The spotlight warms from white through amber to red as the week runs out.
- On-demand sits in the credit corner when a spend cap exists. If the account has no cap, the cup shows a "no spend limit" mark. A failed spend request stays hidden instead of claiming there is no limit.
- Day rail marks the day of the weekly window (day 1 when a full week remains) and stays in step with the "Resets in" line.

v0.2.7 — Early public beta (safer sign-in)
Early public beta — safer sign-in and Keychain handling
GrokBot Meter is an unofficial menu-bar companion for Grok Bot on macOS. Tiny tray app: weekly usage %, today, and reset timing — no Dock clutter.
Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a product of xAI, Cursor, or Apple. Uses official Grok Bot meters only.
What's new in 0.2.7
- Never touches your Grok Bot sign-in. The meter no longer refreshes Grok Bot's token, which could have signed you out of Grok Bot. It only reads the current access token; when that expires, the Weekly card says Open Grok Bot to refresh sign-in.
- No more frozen menu bar while the macOS Keychain prompt is open.
- Deny means deny. If you click Deny on the Keychain prompt, it won't reappear until you reopen the app, and the Weekly card says Keychain access denied.
- New What it accesses section in the README: every file, Keychain item, and endpoint the app uses. No telemetry, no server of its own.
The Keychain prompt
When the app loads your weekly usage, macOS asks whether security may use "Grok Bot Safe Storage". That's macOS's built-in Keychain tool reading the key Grok Bot uses to protect your sign-in. Click Allow. "Always Allow" also works but lets other programs on your Mac read that key without asking — details.

v0.2.6 — Early public beta (install fix)
Early public beta — install fix
GrokBot Meter is an unofficial menu-bar companion for Grok Bot on macOS. Tiny tray app: weekly usage %, today, and reset timing — no Dock clutter.
Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a product of xAI, Cursor, or Apple. Uses official Grok Bot meters only.
What's new in 0.2.6
- Fixes "GrokBot Meter is damaged and can't be opened" on downloaded copies. The app bundle is now properly ad-hoc signed, so macOS offers the normal approval flow instead. If you're on 0.2.5, replace it with this build.
- Refresh now fetches fresh weekly data instead of returning a cached value, and concurrent weekly requests are merged into one.
- Expired access tokens are detected before calling the API, and the refreshed token is reused instead of refreshing on every poll.
- Clearer signed-out message: "Sign in to Grok Bot to see weekly".
