Amethyst Excavation adds a small advancement branch, available in English and Spanish, rooted under vanilla's own recipe tree.

Amethyst Echoes (root)

"Let what is already there echo farther"

Granted the moment amethyst shards enter your inventory. This is a quiet root advancement — no toast, no chat announcement — that the rest of the branch hangs off of.

Ripple Through Stone

"Let one clean strike echo through nearby ground"

Granted the first time you craft the amethyst infusion recipe (parented under Amethyst Echoes). Icon: an iron pickaxe.

Recipe unlock

Picking up either an amethyst shard or any pickaxe (vanilla or modded, via #minecraft:pickaxes) unlocks the infusion recipe in the recipe book — you don't need to discover it by chance.
