Miscellaneous Items
Pure Ores adds thirty-two misc items across four families: eight gems, eight dusts, eight gem apples, and eight gem carrots. Each of the mod's eight minerals — moonstone, fire opal, jadeite, ametrine, chrysoberyl, sapphire, black diamond, and lonsdaleite — contributes one item to each family.
Registry names follow the pattern <mineral>_<family>, giving moonstone_apple, fire_opal_dust, jadeite_carrot, and so on. Gems are the exception: they use the mineral name alone (pureores:sapphire).
One gem per mineral. Gems are the mod's primary crafting ingredient and the material identity for each mineral's gear.
Crafting uses:
- Blocks — 9 gems compress into a gem block; the block unpacks back into 9 gems.
- Tools and weapons — gems craft shovels, pickaxes, axes, hoes, and swords in the vanilla patterns, with sticks as handles.
- Armour — gems craft helmets, chestplates, leggings, and boots in the vanilla armour patterns.
- Repair — gems repair gear of the same mineral, following vanilla's material-based repair rules.
- Gem apples — 8 gems surround a vanilla apple to craft the matching gem apple.
- Dust — 1 gem stonecuts into 4 dust.
Gems are also valid beacon payment items, so any of the eight can activate a beacon.
One dust per mineral, distinct from the gem. Dusts are the mod's glass-working ingredient.
Crafting uses:
- Stained glass — dust dyes a vanilla glass block into the matching mineral glass.
- Stained glass panes — dust dyes glass panes into the matching mineral pane.
- Frosted glass — dust combines with the matching mineral glass to produce its frosted variant.
- Gem carrots — 8 dusts surround a vanilla carrot to craft the matching gem carrot.
Dusts come from gems via stonecutter — 1 gem yields 4 dust. There is no furnace or crafting-table conversion; the stonecutter is the only path.
Eight apples, one per mineral, each crafted from eight gems around a vanilla apple.
All eight use Minecraft's Golden Apple food component and carry Rare rarity. Same nutrition, same Absorption and Regeneration as a vanilla golden apple. The gem changes the recipe and the texture, not the effect.
Eight carrots, one per mineral, each crafted from eight dusts around a vanilla carrot.
All eight use Minecraft's Golden Carrot food component at default rarity. Same nutrition as a vanilla golden carrot, no status effects.
The apple/carrot split mirrors vanilla's own: apples carry effects, carrots carry plain nutrition. In Pure Ores, each mineral's identity is established by its gear, blocks, and glass — the food follows that naming rather than inventing a separate effect per mineral.
