Plugin Features

  • Syntax Highlighting
    • This plugin parses your Tag-based CFML code as well as Script-based ColdFusion components and provides coloring depending on the grammar of the code. For example, variables, function calls, etc., are all colored differently to make it easier to quickly identify parts of your code.
    • Color can be controlled by a dedicated panel in the IDE's settings panel. Defaults are driven by the selected IDE theme.
  • Error Highlighting
    • The plugin will automatically detect mismatched tags and a limited number of other errors, to help you quickly fix problems before you push or test your code.
  • Commenter Helpers
    • Within the Code menu in the IDE, you can quickly create or remove comment blocks and lines. Hot-keys can be assigned to these above the default. (Ctl+/ or Ctl+Shift+/)
  • Quick Surrounds
    • Add variable declarations (pound signs), cfoutput and other common surrounds. Simply highlight a variable and right-click to find the Surround With... menu option.
  • Code Folding
    • Easily identify and track large blocks of collapsable code, including IF, SWITCH and FOR statements.
  • Automatically closes tags and braces
    • The Plugin can automatically close a tag for you or complete a brace while you type when it determines that a closing tag is needed.
    • This option can be disabled in the Settings panel within the IDE (search for CFML)
  • Code Completion
    • The Plugin will auto-suggest functions, tags and attributes as you type, based on libraries of documentation published by the Lucee and Adobe ColdFusion teams.
    • The Plugin will also suggest components and variables declared within the code, based on items within your project.
  • Find References
    • The Plugin supports the IDE's Find References feature, meaning you can search for functions, variables and much more at the Project level. The IDE Editor will show in-line hints of real-time usage of functions.
    • Click-to-jump across functions and variables is enabled in the Plugin. Simply press the Ctl key and click a variable name, function name or anything else to jump to where it was declared.
  • In-Line Documentation
    • Hover over any tag, function or declared method to see its signature. If it is a built-in tag or function you will see a preview of the official docs on how to use the tag/function.
  • Line Markers Support
    • The Plugin will put icons in the gutter to quickly show if a function is private, public or remote. You can click the cutter to enable line-level debugging (if the Debugger extension is installed)
  • Full Debugger Support
    • The debugger supports line-level stops, introspection of variables, and variable watches.
    • This does require Lucee 7.x or later with the Debugger Extension installed and configured. See the Debugger section of the WIKI for more information and a walk-through of this feature.
  • New Project Wizard
    • Setup a new project with base files already created using best practices. Supports Docker-based deployments with optional database and reverse proxy support with those items wired up for you.
  • New File Templates
    • Templated files for CFM, CFC, and CFS files for both classes and traditional templates.
  • "Find Application File"
    • The Plugin will show what Application.cfc/Application.cfm file is being executed for a given template. Right-click anywhere in the editor for this feature.
  • Populate Application.cfc lifecycle stubs
    • Auto-create functions within the application.cfc such as OnApplicationStart() with the proper signatures.
  • Document Formatter
    • Re-format the open document based on the rules set in the IDE Settings. Right-click anywhere in the editor and select Format Document
    • Formatting rules can be found in the IDE Settings, in the Tools sub-section.
