Installation (Manual Installation)

This guide will show you how to install this plugin using the "manual" method. This allows you to install any snapshot or released version that you choose. Do note, that if you install the plugin using the manual method, it will not automatically update, nor will it notify you of available updates. You will be responsible for finding, downloading and installing updates as they comes out.
- JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA Release 2026.2 or later
- Lucee 7.x or later (required for line-level debugging only)
- Install JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA version 2026.2 or later
- Download the version of the plugin that you wish to use from this repository, by clicking on "Code" then "Releases" on the right-side menubar. The plugin should be a .ZIP file.
- Launch IntelliJ. You should get to the welcome screen. If you have a previous installation, close the current project to get to the welcome screen.
- On the Welcome to IntelliJ IDEA, click on the Plugins topic.
- On the list of available plugins, click on the Gear icon in the mid-top of the screen. Select "Install Plugin from Disk"
- Select the .ZIP file of the plugin version you wish to use.
- You should see the Lucee CFML plugin installed in the plugins list. Close the Welcome screen and relaunch IntelliJ IDEA.
The plugin should now be installed.
- Download the version of the plugin that you wish to use from this repository, by clicking on "Code" then "Releases" on the right-side menubar. The plugin should be a .ZIP file.
- Launch IntelliJ. If you had a project open, click on File -> Close Project to get to the Welcome screen.
- Click on the Plugins topic. Go to Installed in the top bar, and find Lucee CFML in the plugin list.
- Click on the Disable drop-down and select Uninstall. Once it is uninstalled, close the welcome screen and re-launch IntelliJ
- On the Welcome to IntelliJ IDEA, click on the Plugins topic.
- On the list of available plugins, click on the Gear icon in the mid-top of the screen. Select "Install Plugin from Disk"
- Select the .ZIP file of the plugin version you wish to use.
- You should see the Lucee CFML plugin installed in the plugins list. Close the Welcome screen and relaunch IntelliJ IDEA.
