Install
Pick whichever fits you. The standalone downloads need no Python; the pip and source options need Python 3.10+. Back to Home.
Package manager (easiest):
winget install ransh2014.TRACE
or
scoop bucket add gt7telem https://github.com/ransh2014/scoop-gt7telem
scoop install gt7telem/gt7telem
or
choco install gt7telem
Direct download: get gt7telem-windows.zip from https://gt7trace.netlify.app/setup (or the latest release), right-click it, choose Extract All, then double-click TRACE.exe.
SmartScreen warning? Click More info, then Run anyway. TRACE.exe isn't code-signed yet; TRACE applied for a free SignPath Foundation certificate but wasn't approved yet, and will reapply later. If your antivirus quarantines it, that's a common false positive with PyInstaller-built apps and you can allowlist the file.
From PowerShell:
iwr https://github.com/ransh2014/gt7telemtrace/releases/latest/download/gt7telem-windows.zip -OutFile gt7telem-windows.zip
Homebrew:
brew tap ransh2014/gt7telem
brew install --cask gt7telem
Direct download: get gt7telem-macos.zip, unzip it and drag TRACE.app into Applications.
First launch: right-click TRACE.app, choose Open, then Open again. The app is ad-hoc signed, not notarized, so macOS shows an "unidentified developer" warning. If macOS still refuses, run this once in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/TRACE.app
On an older Intel Mac, use the pip or source install below instead.
Download gt7telem-linux.zip, extract it, open a terminal in that folder and run:
chmod +x TRACE && ./TRACE
- Built on Ubuntu 22.04, so it needs glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 36+, Debian 12+ or similar).
- It needs a desktop session. It won't run headless.
- Spoken alerts need
speech-dispatcherorespeak-nginstalled (Windows and macOS have a voice built in). Without one, TRACE falls back to the alert sound. - You can verify the download with the GPG signature; see FAQ.
Download gt7telem-android.apk from the latest release on your phone and open it. Android will ask you to allow Install unknown apps for your browser or file manager the first time.
- Needs Android 8.0 or newer, and the phone on the same Wi-Fi as your PS5. Enter the PS5's IP or tap Auto-Detect.
- The phone receives the telemetry itself, so no PC is needed.
- The APK is signed with TRACE's own key (not Google Play), so Android shows its normal unknown-source prompt.
- Laps are saved in the app's own folder. Use Backup Laps on the launcher to zip them out.
You need Python 3.10 or newer with tkinter. On Ubuntu/Debian:
sudo apt install python3 python3-pip python3-venv python3-tk
Then:
pip install gt7tracetelem
The PyPI package is called gt7tracetelem. If you ever installed a different package called gt7telem, check for it first with pip show gt7telem, because the two can conflict.
Download gt7telem-source.zip, extract it, then:
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
python3 launcher.py
- winget:
winget upgrade ransh2014.TRACE - Scoop:
scoop update gt7telem - Chocolatey:
choco upgrade gt7telem - Homebrew:
brew upgrade --cask gt7telem - pip:
pip install --upgrade gt7tracetelem - Android: install the newer APK over the old one; your laps and settings are kept (it must be signed with the same key, which every release APK is).
- Direct download: grab the new zip. Your laps and settings live in
~/TRACE/lapsand~/.gt7telem, so upgrades don't wipe them (unless you run the portable.exeor binary, which keeps them next to itself). - TRACE also shows a small banner in the Launcher when a newer release is out. Switch it off with CHECK FOR UPDATES in the Live Dashboard header.
Package-manager releases go through a review step, so a new version can take a little while to appear there. The direct downloads are always the latest build.
