Getting started

Install

Download the published Retail build that matches your game version. Install it in your Retail Interface/AddOns folder (or use your addon manager), then enable ActionBarProfiles in the game's AddOns list. The published file's game-version listing is more reliable than a development version number in source code.

Save a profile

  1. Open the character panel and click the Action Bars sidebar icon.
  2. Click New Profile. Enter a short, recognizable name, such as a specialization or activity.
  3. Select the categories to save. Action bars and Empty slots are separate options; choose Talents if you want the selected talent setup included.
  4. Click Okay. The profile appears in the list.

To refresh an existing profile after changing your setup, select it and click Save. Check its options first: only selected categories are intended to be managed by that profile. Use its edit control to rename it or change its saved options.

Use a profile

Select a saved profile and click Use. The addon may warn that some saved actions cannot be used by the current character. Read the count and decide whether to continue. Actions, talents, and other selected categories can change; wait for the restore to finish before making further changes. Check the bars and talent pane afterward, especially when switching specialization or using a profile created on a different character.

For a first test, save your current setup under a separate backup profile before applying another one. The addon saves data in World of Warcraft SavedVariables; back up your WTF folder if you need a recoverable copy outside the game.

Next steps

Read Profiles and options for each checkbox and chat commands, or Troubleshooting if the result differs from what you expected. Open a bug report with your addon/game versions and reproduction steps if the problem persists.
