Profiles and Options
Profiles are named snapshots. In the character panel, open Action Bars, select a profile, then use Save to update it or Use to apply it. Use New Profile to make another snapshot. The edit control lets you change a profile's name and options. A favorite/default profile can be associated with a character and specialization for automatic loading when switching to that specialization.
| Option | What it manages |
|---|---|
| Action bars | Saved action button placements, including supported spells, items, macros, and other action types. |
| Empty slots | Whether empty action bar slots in the saved layout should also clear slots when restored. |
| Talents | The talent selections saved with this profile for the relevant specialization. |
| PvP Talents | Selected PvP talents. |
| Macros | Macros associated with the saved setup. Check the separate Replace macros setting before restoring if you want to preserve your current macros. |
| Pet or demon actions | The relevant pet/demon action setup where available. |
| Key bindings | Saved key bindings; verify them after restoration because binding restoration has had reported issues. |
Only select categories you want the profile to manage. If you are experimenting with talent or bar layouts, save your current setup as a separate profile first. Profile data is in addon SavedVariables; for a separate backup, copy your WoW WTF folder while the game is closed.
The addon settings include Replace macros, separate from the profile's Macros checkbox. Understand that setting before applying a profile that contains macros. The published build has an open report about character-specific macros being restored to account-wide slots. If that affects you, keep a backup of your macros and consult the issue before using macro replacement.
An action may not be usable by every character, specialization, or talent setup. The Use confirmation can report how many saved actions are currently unusable; inspect the result after applying the profile. Key bindings and macros deserve particular attention.
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
| /abp list | List profiles. Alias: ls. |
| /abp save PROFILE_NAME | Create or update a profile. Alias: sv. |
| /abp use PROFILE_NAME | Apply a profile. Aliases: load, ld. |
| /abp del PROFILE_NAME | Delete a profile. Aliases: delete, remove, rm. |
The character-panel controls are useful when choosing checkboxes; chat commands are convenient when you know a profile name. For problems, see Troubleshooting.
