Troubleshooting

Before reporting a problem

  1. Check the installed addon version and the WoW Retail version. Compare them with the game version listed for the published CurseForge file.
  2. If the interface behaves unexpectedly, try a UI reload. Save any in-progress game changes first.
  3. Reproduce the problem with the smallest set of profile options possible. Note whether it happens only on one character, specialization, talent loadout, or with another addon enabled.
  4. Search existing issues before opening a new one. Add new, relevant details to an existing report when appropriate.

If a profile changed data you wanted to retain, restore from your own backup of the World of Warcraft WTF folder. Back up the folder with the game closed before experimenting with macro replacement, key bindings, or multiple talent setups.

Common situations

The Use prompt says some actions are unusable. Some saved buttons may belong to another class, specialization, talent selection, or unavailable ability. Read the prompt before continuing. After restore, inspect the affected slots and talents.

Macros are placed incorrectly or overwritten. Review the profile's Macros checkbox and the addon's separate Replace macros setting. The published build has an existing macro restoration report. Back up your macros before testing.

Key bindings differ after restore. Verify bindings in the game controls. Binding restoration has been reported as inconsistent; include exact before/after bindings in a bug report.

A Lua error appears. Copy the complete error and stack trace, including the first line and addon file/line numbers. A screenshot can help, but text is easier to search and diagnose. Include what you clicked and whether the error occurred during saving, opening the panel, or using a profile.

Write a useful report

Use the bug report template and include:

  • Addon version and WoW Retail version/build; whether this is a published build or a development copy.
  • Character class and specialization, and whether multiple talent loadouts or characters are involved.
  • Profile options selected (Actions, Empty slots, Talents, PvP Talents, Macros, Pet or demon actions, Key bindings) and the Replace macros setting if relevant.
  • Exact steps to reproduce, expected result, and actual result.
  • Full Lua error text, relevant chat output, and screenshots where useful. Remove private information before posting.

For a new capability rather than a malfunction, choose the feature request template. Existing issues and feature requests are retained in the tracker.
