Garments
Garments are clothing and accessories worn through Create: Apparel's own equipment system. Use a Wardrobe to equip them and adjust their supported wearing styles.
There are 13 apparel slots, separate from your normal armor slots.
| Slot | Examples |
|---|---|
| Inner Tops | Undershirts and bras. |
| Tops | T-Shirts, shirts, blouses, sweaters, hoodies, and dresses. |
| Outerwear | Jackets and compatible shirts or zip-up hoodies. |
| Coats | Chesterfield, Trench, Duffle, and Pea Coats. |
| Inner Bottoms | Briefs, boxer briefs, and panties. |
| Bottoms | Jeans, slacks, shorts, and skirts. |
| Legwear | Tights and socks. |
| Footwear | Sneakers, dress shoes, loafers, boots, pumps, sandals, and slippers. |
| Headwear | Caps, beanies, berets, hats, casquettes, and sun visors. |
| Facewear | Glasses, sunglasses, and masks. |
| Back | Backpacks, daypacks, and crossbody bags. |
| Hands | Watches, bracelets, wristbands, and gloves. |
| Neck | Necklaces and neckties. |
Some garments support more than one slot. Check the item's tooltip for its available slots; wearing it in another supported slot can change its available styles.
| Choice | Where it is chosen |
|---|---|
| Garment type and silhouette | Select the garment in a Sewing Pattern. Sleeve lengths, necklines, and skirt lengths may be separate garments. |
| Material | Use a fabric accepted by the garment's recipe. |
| Main color | Dye the fabric before sewing. |
| Design | Select a supported design in the Sewing Pattern. |
| Secondary and accent colors | Select them in the pattern when the design uses them. |
| Wearing style | Adjust the equipped garment in the Wardrobe. |
The fabric palette has 33 colors: Minecraft's 16 dye colors and 17 additional fashion colors. Available designs vary by garment; they can include different patterns, trims, and color arrangements.
The pattern's preview fabric color does not recolor your production input. The Wardrobe does not change a finished garment's material, design, or colors. Make another garment to change those choices.
Metal necklaces and bracelets use a separate production route with metal and gem choices. See Other.
Select an equipped garment in the Wardrobe to see its style controls. Depending on the garment, these may include tucking, rolled sleeves, open fronts, raised hoods, or left/right accessory placement.
Layer Inner Tops, Tops, Outerwear, and Coats to build an outfit. Some style choices are constrained by outer layers; for example, adding outerwear can return an inner layer's rolled sleeves to their normal position.
Style controls appear only when the selected garment supports them. Use the mouse wheel over a style button to cycle values, or over the apparel area to change the selected slot.
The Wardrobe offers Flat and Bust chest profiles and a selection of skin tones. Your player's arm shape follows your Minecraft skin model.
Wearing body clothing, legwear, or footwear activates Apparel Body Mode. Your original head stays visible, while the mod supplies the body below the neck and renders your outfit over it. Wearing only head, face, back, hand, or neck accessories does not activate this mode by itself.
While Apparel Body Mode is active, standard armor rendering is hidden. Equipped armor still provides its normal protection, enchantments, and durability behavior. Clothes do not add armor protection of their own.
Garments equipped in apparel slots are retained after death, independently of keepInventory. Clothing carried in your ordinary inventory follows the normal inventory rules.
Use mannequins, hangers, and clothing racks to show your collection. Citizens can also wear garments and discover outfits through displays and advertisements.
Equip a Watch, leave both hands empty, and hold the key shown in its tooltip to check the time in first person. The default control is Left Shift.
