Create: Apparel's production machines use Create rotational power. Check shaft positions before connecting them, supply enough stress capacity, and provide somewhere for finished items to go.

Production equipment

Workstation Input Output
Spinning Machine Plant or synthetic fiber, wool, or cocoons Thread of the corresponding material.
Loom Four matching threads One undyed fabric.
Sewing Machine Dyed fabric, thread, and a configured pattern filter A finished garment.
Silkworm Rearing Tray A captured Silkworm, food, and rotational power Cocoons.

The Loom here is Create: Apparel's powered machine, separate from the vanilla Loom used for banners.

Spinning Machine

Prepare Cotton, Flax, or Hemp Fiber in a Millstone first. Feed the fiber into the Spinning Machine to make Cotton, Linen, or Hemp Thread. Wool can go directly into the machine, and Cocoons become Silk Thread. Synthetic Fiber becomes Synthetic Thread.

Right-click with an accepted ingredient to insert it. Right-click with an empty hand to retrieve unprocessed input. Belts, funnels, chutes, and compatible item handlers can supply ingredients automatically.

Loom

Feed four threads of the same material into the Loom. It weaves them into one undyed fabric of that material.

Manual insertion and input recovery work like the Spinning Machine. Dye the resulting fabric before using it in a Sewing Machine.

Leather Fabric is prepared in a Basin rather than woven; see Items.

Sewing Machine

  1. Use a Sewing Pattern in your hand to choose the garment and design.
  2. Apply the configured pattern to the machine's filter area.
  3. Supply the required dyed fabric and thread.
  4. Power the shaft and collect the finished garment.

The pattern screen shows material quantities, and Engineer's Goggles show the machine's fabric and thread counts against the selected recipe's requirements.

Patterns are reusable filter settings. Changing the pattern resets the current sewing progress. The main fabric determines the garment's material and primary color; the pattern supplies its design and any secondary or accent colors.

Accepted fabrics vary by garment. Use JEI and the pattern screen to choose suitable materials. Empty-hand use retrieves thread before fabric.

Silkworm Rearing Tray

Find a Silkworm by breaking naturally generated leaves. To start with manual rearing, feed a larva leaves, wait for its cocoon to finish, and shear it. The same Silkworm returns to its larval state.

For automated production:

  1. Use an empty Silkworm Rearing Tray item on a larva to capture it, then place the tray. Alternatively, lead a larva near an empty placed tray and use the tray with a lead or an empty hand.
  2. Supply leaves or other accepted Silkworm food.
  3. Connect rotational power and arrange extraction of Cocoons.

Each tray holds one Silkworm. At 64 RPM, the standard recipe produces one Cocoon in about a minute. Faster rotation shortens the cycle, with diminishing returns.

A redstone signal pauses the tray, allowing production control with Create's redstone equipment.

Sneak-use with an empty hand to release the Silkworm when the tray is idle. Wait for an active or blocked production cycle to finish before releasing it. A tray containing a Silkworm keeps it when broken and collected.

Unlike the three textile machines, the tray has a stored output that can be extracted. Keep its output clear to allow continued production.

Dyeing and supporting Create machines

Task Equipment
Turn textile crops into fibers Millstone.
Prepare Leather Fabric Basin and Mechanical Mixer.
Dye or wash color out of fabric Basin and Mechanical Mixer, with water.
Prepare jewelry bases Basin and Mechanical Press.
Attach gems to jewelry bases Deployer.
Print posters and billboards Deployer holding an Advertising Photo.
Recycle supported garments into Old Cloth Crushing Wheels.

See Other for printing, jewelry, and recycling.

Automation and troubleshooting

The Spinning Machine, Loom, and Sewing Machine send completed results directly to accepting Create logistics or adjacent storage. If nothing accepts the result, they drop it into the world. Their ingredient storage is for input; it is not an output buffer.

If production stops, check rotational power, stress capacity, recipe ingredients and quantities, and the Sewing Pattern filter. For sewing, also check that the fabric has been dyed. Engineer's Goggles and Ponder are useful for inspecting the setup.
