The purpose of the application is:

Help users learn to code in QT
Provide some ( not too deep ) references for QT and its widgets.
Provide a preview of how widgets actually behave, closely linking the code to the behaviour.
Act as a predictable source of cut and paste code that is easy to find and pretty sure to work.
