The project focuses on clean channel identity, consistent metadata, local logos, EPG compatibility and useful backups.
Regular audits check:
- Duplicate stream URLs
- Duplicate channel numbers
- Missing
tvg-id - Missing
tvg-chno - Missing logos
- EPG mapping
- Channel-name normalization
- Stream URL structure
- New channel and backup candidates
Duplicate stream URLs are not allowed.
Primary channels and backup entries are checked separately so legitimate backup streams are not unnecessarily removed.
Automatic discovery is intentionally conservative.

Backup channels are retained intentionally.
A backup stream may be temporarily unavailable and become functional later.
Backup channels must not be removed simply because they fail during one check.
The project maintains:
- XMLTV EPG configuration
- Channel-to-EPG mapping
- Local repository-hosted logos
- Missing-logo detection
- Logo metadata consistency
Local logos are preferred where practical to reduce unnecessary external dependencies.
Stream scans can report:
- Response
- Unverified
- Restricted
- Dead
- Unreachable
- Unavailable
- Not a stream
- Protected
A scan result does not automatically mean a channel should be removed. Results are reviewed before playlist changes.
Practical — solve real playlist problems.
Accurate — verify before changing.
Conservative — protect useful channels and backups.
Transparent — document important changes.
Organized — keep metadata, logos, EPG and backups consistent.
