Who still considers themselves a maintainer of HTSJDK?

HTSJDK has not been the most actively maintained project for a long time, and with many departures from Broad in the last couple of years, it's not clear to me who still has an active interest in helping maintain the project.

The set of users with write or admin access to the project appears to be:

I would very much appreciate it if folks on this list would take 2 minutes to respond with a) their current affiliation (if any) and b) level of interest in the project moving forward. I might suggest the latter be one of:

1. Not interested - please remove my access
2. Interested but can commit minimal time
3. Interested and willing/able to commit time to this project
4. Something else

Likewise if there are others in the broad community that have an interest in seeing this project more actively maintained, who might like to step forward, please comment here with similar information!

Answering for myself (for the record). Currently affiliated to Fulcrum Genomics and somewhere between 2 and 3; I'm interested in seeing HTSJDK more actively maintained and can likely commit some time.

Currently affiliated with the Broad Institute. I believe I'd also fall into buckets 2 or 3 depending on how busy things are at any moment.

Hi Tim, Good to hear from you. I'm still at Broad. We in McCarroll Lab rely on htsjdk and picard and have no plans to stop. We don't have a ton of time to devote given other crises but I think we should be able to contribute some time (interest level 2). Regards, Alec

Hi Tim,
I don't think I've a clear understanding of all the technical sides of the project ( CRAM spec, tests, gradle so I don't think I should have a right to 'commit') but i'd like to contribute ( upgrade to recent java , GTF, BCF, JNI, move to interfaces ....).

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. If nobody objects, then maybe next week I'll start removing write access to the project for everyone who has responded (1) or similar.

I'm also going to try to reach out to some of the folks who haven't responded, outside of GH.

If I make a mistake, or anyone has a change of heart I am more than happy to restore access for anyone. My goal in taking people off, is to have the list represent reality, nothing more.

Thanks for spearheading. I am at the Broad, and #2 is a good fit for the foreseeable future.

Thanks folks - I've gone through and removed folks who either elected for removal, or who didn't respond (I know in most cases those people have also moved on). Nothing is final, people can be added back if they wake up and want to contribute!

I also downgraded permissions from "Admin" to "Write" for remaining people who have access but minimal to no contribution history for the repo.
