War Bells v0.18.0
War Bells v0.18.0 — robustness, done properly.
Rebuilt the safety from the inside out instead of leaning on the output limiter: blocked DC in the
reverb (high-feedback combs were amplifying it ~16x into a headroom-eating offset), switched the
shimmer feedback from a hard clamp to soft saturation (no more clamp-fold crackle), and added
denormal flushing so tails can't stall the CPU. Plus a real test harness that stress-tests the engine
(every preset, parameter sweeps, worst-case combos, random combinations) and scores each artifact
type — clicks, DC, aliasing, harshness, runaway, true-peak — tracked against a baseline so this can't
regress. 0 artifacts across 97 cases.

War Bells v0.17.0
War Bells v0.17.0 — louder again, still safe.
The crash-proofing left things quiet; this brings the level back. The output ceiling now holds
sustained washes a bit louder (~0.8) while still capping below the rails, and a master makeup gain
lifts the quieter patches — applied so true bypass stays unity. Every preset still passes the
multi-second stability audit (no runaway, no clipping).

War Bells v0.16.0
War Bells v0.16.0 — fixes Sheen (and the whole "builds to a wall" class).
Some presets (Sheen worst) slowly built up to the rails over several seconds of sustained playing —
a runaway my short tests missed. The output ceiling now firmly holds sustained washes so they settle
instead of climbing; every preset stays well off the rails (Sheen peak 0.99 -> 0.79). Also tightened
the shimmer/reverb feedback. And the test suite now runs a multi-second stability audit on every
preset, every build, so this can't slip through again.

War Bells v0.15.0
War Bells v0.15.0 — proper gain-staging (the real fix behind the limiter).
The clipping wasn't really a limiter problem — the delay and reverb were summed at full level, so
space-heavy patches compounded past the rails. Now the space bus has headroom (delay+reverb scaled
together, so their balance/texture is unchanged), the presets sit at healthy levels with room to
spare, and the tape limiter is back to being a rare safety net instead of always-on.
Note: space-heavy patches you made before will be a bit quieter — nudge Space/Mix up; the texture is
identical. Manual/demo: https://seajaysec.github.io/war-bells/
War Bells v0.14.0
War Bells v0.14.0 — tape ceiling, refined.
Reworked the output limiter so it rides the level cleanly (no waveshaping, so it adds no harsh
harmonics), then warms/softens by how hard you push it, then a soft ceiling catches only the rare
overshoot. It breathes, stays smooth, and can never hard-clip — the cinematic way to handle peaks.
(v0.13.0's version added distortion when pushed; this fixes that.)

War Bells v0.13.0
War Bells v0.13.0 — a warm "tape ceiling" instead of a clip.
The output now handles over-the-top energy the cinematic way: a tape/optical-style limiter rides the
level so washes breathe, and the harder it's pushed the warmer and darker it gets (highs roll off,
gentle saturation) — never the harsh/bright direction of clipping. Transparent at normal levels;
can never hard-clip. The lush presets now bloom and breathe instead of slamming a ceiling.
