Offline DAoC 0.37b, with the Sluaghbinder

The first Offline DAoC version that comes as an update. If you play 0.36, 0.36b or 0.36c, you download only what changed (about 40 MB) and keep your account, characters, bots and settings. If you don't have the game yet, the same downloader installs the complete game and updates it.

This is the original DAoC client with the custom Hibernian Sluaghbinder class for you and the bots. Other editions: v0.37 has the classic class list only (recommended), and v0.37c adds the new game client (BETA).

How to update or install

  1. Download Download-OfflineDAoC-v0.37b.zip below (under Assets) into a new, empty folder with a short path, for example C:\Games\OfflineDAoC.
  2. Right-click the zip → Extract All…, and open the extracted folder.
  3. Close the Offline DAoC launcher and the game, then double-click GET-OFFLINE-DAOC-v0.37b.cmd. If Windows asks, choose Run (or More info → Run anyway).
    • Press 1 = Update my game if you have 0.36, 0.36b or 0.36c, and choose your game folder. It works out the edition by itself, checks your files, backs up everything it replaces (in patch-backups in the game folder) and updates the game and its world data without touching your saves. If anything goes wrong, it puts everything back.
    • Press 2 = New install if you don't have the game: it downloads the complete game (about 5 GB) into a new playable-v0.37b folder and updates it. If it stops, run it again and it continues.
  4. Turn on the Windows feature .NET Framework 3.5 (how) if you haven't yet.
  5. In the game folder, double-click START OFFLINE DAOC.cmd → START SERVER → wait for RUNNING → ENTER REALM. The launcher shows VERSION 0.37b.

The update brings your game to the edition you already have: a 0.36 game becomes 0.37 (an update never adds or removes the Sluaghbinder), and a game with the new client becomes 0.37c. If you changed game files the update would replace, it lists them, changes nothing, and offers a fresh 0.37b in a new folder with your progress brought over.

You need a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC with an AVX2 CPU, 16 GB RAM (recommended) and about 20 GB of free space.

Coming from 0.35 or older? Install 0.37b (press 2), then run IMPORT PROGRESS FROM OLD OFFLINE DAOC.cmd in the new folder. Your old folder is not changed. Transfer guide. Quick in-game commands: QUICK COMMANDS.txt.

What's new in 0.37

  • Guilds: form a guild on your own at a Guild Registrar (/gc form <name>) and invite your realm's gamebots (/gc invite). Guild bots show the guild name, wear its emblem on cloak and shield, and chat in guild chat. Your /spawn companions show your guild while they are with you.
  • Sieges and battlegrounds: siege armies attack together, raise their fallen during the battle and, if they release, come back at their frontier muster point instead of their capital. Rams are set up past the wrecks of broken engines, and realms too small for an assault fight in the open field.
  • Raids: raids get further in Caer Sidi and Galladoria; automatic raid rallies give their army time to arrive, and every dragon raid party can reach its spot round the lair.
  • Bots: groups travel as one pack, take town teleporters only when it really is quicker, step back onto real ground from cut-off patches at once, and find a way across zone borders.
  • Less lag: far fewer repeated route searches and much less short-lived data, so memory clean-up pauses come less often.
  • Quests and items: every classic quest can be started by talking to its giver again; bounties count every monster with the bounty's name; 22 weapons, shields and armour pieces that were drawn as a bag now look like what they are.
