Offline DAoC 0.35 "Claude Takeover III" (classic classes only)

Choose a tag to compare

@shadowofze shadowofze released this 08 Oct 21:18

Offline DAoC 0.35 "Claude Takeover III", classic classes only

The same complete game as v0.35b, with no custom class: only the original Classic + Shrouded Isles classes, for you and the bots. The helper downloads the shared game parts from the v0.35b release and switches this copy to the classic class list. Its game client has every client improvement of 0.35b (classic war map, red quest markers, the QUEST GUIDE button).

How to install

  1. Turn on the Windows feature .NET Framework 3.5 (how).
  2. Download DOWNLOAD-AND-PLAY-v0.35.cmd and Get-OfflineDAoC.ps1 from this page into the same new, empty folder.
  3. Double-click the .cmd file. It downloads the game (about 5 GB, checked part by part) into a new playable-v0.35 folder, and never overwrites an existing game.
  4. Open that folder and run START OFFLINE DAOC.cmd → START SERVER → wait for RUNNING → ENTER REALM.

Your own local account is created the first time. The world starts empty; create bots from each realm's card in the launcher, which shows VERSION 0.35.
You need a 64-bit Windows PC with an AVX2 CPU, 16 GB RAM (recommended) and about 20 GB of free space.

Coming from 0.34, 0.34b or an older version? Run IMPORT PROGRESS FROM OLD OFFLINE DAOC.cmd in the new folder to bring over your account, characters, items, money, houses and bots. Your old folder is not changed. Transfer guide.

What's new in 0.35

  • 448 classic quests (1.65 and classic Shrouded Isles), with their recorded dialogue, the quest NPCs and monsters the server lacked, and kill-task camps that bots grind too. Quest rewards are still in progress: many reward items are not in yet.
  • Red map markers for every quest in your journal, and a Quest Guide: the Quest Journal's QUEST GUIDE button, /questguide or /task shows the Allakhazam walkthrough of your active quests as it read in 2001-2004 (written by Allakhazam's contributors; each guide names its source).
  • The world of the period: monster populations restored from period bestiaries, all four battlegrounds with their monsters, and the realm war map showing the classic frontier.
  • New raid events: Summoner's Hall and Darkness Falls for every realm, and raids that lead bosses back to their lair the way players do.
  • Keep and relic sieges: armies gather and march as one column, set up rams, catapults, trebuchets and ballistas, and go after stolen relics. Your /raid 40 and /raid 80 fight keep sieges on their own, and attacking a keep raises a defense sized to your force.
  • Battlegrounds: bots take part, and their central keeps can be sieged.
  • Gamebots: town teleporters, realm points and realm abilities, smoother group travel, ranged pulls, route threat awareness, and enemy gamebots shown by their race.
  • Companions: pets travel with you, casters fight with their staff when out of power, healers and buffers walk into range.
  • Bots walk where players walk: the navigation maps of 63 outdoor zones were rebuilt.
  • Launcher: scales with Windows display scaling; new Options tab, Battlegrounds tab and Battlegrounds % bot goal.

Overview: RELEASE-0.35.md. Every change: CHANGELOG.md. Verification: RELEASE VERIFICATION.txt. Known issues: Known issues (0.35 & 0.35b).

Older releases (v0.3–v0.34b) remain available, and each keeps its source on its own branch and tag.

v0.32 — Darkness Falls Beta (Normal Classic + SI)

Choose a tag to compare

@shadowofze shadowofze released this 26 Sep 02:32

Offline DAoC v0.32 — Darkness Falls Beta (normal edition)

This is the Classic + Shrouded Isles edition. It does not contain Sluaghbinder. For that optional class, use v0.32b.

September 28 stability update

  • Savage bots can make normal outdoor pulls. Cursed Tomb avoids the low-level spider goal behind a stronger entrance pack and starts groups on reachable entrance targets. Koalinth mixed-level goals match actual spawn levels, and ordinary group pulls can start at 90/80/80 readiness.
  • Group meetups try a different verified point after a route failure. No-shows no longer reset everyone's timer; viable groups may proceed after bounded retries. Revived members regroup locally only with a two-way route, and a missing-zone crash is guarded.
  • The audited Hibernia Darkness Falls exterior loop uses a paid stable route only when boarding and landing are verified; otherwise it abandons that loop. Lough Derg short-detour recovery can try a different verified step. Midgard combat defeats were not treated as routing faults; monster strength is unchanged.
  • Bots can sell redundant backpack gear without selling equipped items, useful weapon swaps, spare instruments, or upgrades. Ordinary PvE goals stay out of enemy frontiers, while RvR and realm events are unchanged. Two falsely empty camp level catalogs now match live spawns.
  • /gminfo reports helmet model and extension. Model-840 scale coifs with stored extension 2 or 3 display with the working extension-0 appearance, without changing stats or saved items. Moving native-speed companions can pause to cast their learned group speed and catch up. The classic-side Shrouded Isles portals at Cotswold, Mularn, and Mag Mell are visible and collision-free, with no player travel or bot-route change.

Earlier v0.32 Darkness Falls, bounty, camp, charm-pet, and Bard fixes remain included. Darkness Falls is still Beta: ordinary verified grind camps are enabled, but raid AI, Legion, the hardest level-70+ encounters, and unreachable flying targets are not ordinary bot goals. A long live three-realm test is still needed.

Download

Put DOWNLOAD-AND-PLAY-v0.32.cmd and Get-OfflineDAoC.ps1 from this release in one new folder and run the .cmd. It obtains a preserved v0.31 base and the current OfflineDAoC-v0.32-darkness-falls-beta-20260928-update.zip into a new playable copy. Earlier ZIPs remain attached as historical downloads. The matching editable source ZIP is OfflineDAoC-v0.32-darkness-falls-beta-20260928-source.zip; source ZIPs are not playable installations. Keep older installations until you have checked the new copy.

The isolated normal Release build completed with zero errors, and 2,115/2,115 server tests passed. The new ZIPs passed full CRC checks; the download manifest and SHA256SUMS.txt identify the exact current assets. This is not proof of a long live bot run or client playthrough.

@shadowofze shadowofze released this 26 Sep 02:32

Offline DAoC v0.32b — Darkness Falls Beta + optional Sluaghbinder

This edition adds Hibernian Sluaghbinder to the current normal v0.32 game. The normal edition remains class-free and playable on its own.

September 28 shared stability update

This patch carries every current normal v0.32 repair: Savage outdoor pulls; safer Cursed Tomb and Koalinth goals; group readiness, meetup, resurrection, and no-show recovery; the audited Hibernia Darkness Falls exterior route and Lough Derg detour; full-backpack selling protections; ordinary PvE enemy-frontier avoidance; corrected camp levels; model-840 helmet display and /gminfo details; moving-companion group speed; and three visible, collision-free classic-side Shrouded Isles portal visuals. Monster difficulty, realm events, and existing bot portal routes were not changed. Sluaghbinder's private class assets, quests, Covenant pet heal timing, and buff pacing remain available only here.

Darkness Falls remains Beta. Ordinary verified grind camps are enabled, but Darkness Falls raid AI, Legion, the hardest level-70+ encounters, and unreachable flying targets are not ordinary bot goals. A long live three-realm bot run and in-client checks are still needed.

Download

Put DOWNLOAD-AND-PLAY-v0.32b.cmd and Get-OfflineDAoC.ps1 from this release in one new folder and run the .cmd. It assembles the current normal v0.32 build, then applies Sluaghbinder-v0.32b-darkness-falls-beta-20260928-patch.zip into a separate optional sibling copy. The normal base stays untouched. If you already have the matching current normal v0.32 folder, use the installer inside that patch ZIP. Stop the game/server and back up new optional progress before rollback. Earlier ZIPs remain attached for history.

The matching editable source ZIP is OfflineDAoC-v0.32b-darkness-falls-beta-20260928-source.zip; source ZIPs are not playable installations. The optional Release build completed with zero errors and 2,130/2,130 server tests passed. Offline DAoC v0.31b - optional Sluaghbinder expansion

Choose a tag to compare

@shadowofze shadowofze released this 20 Sep 20:05

Latest v0.31b maintenance — solo Bard group guard (September 26)

This refreshed optional patch keeps every existing Sluaghbinder, bounty,
pet-art, and Shannon beach-rat feature. It corrects one shared Bard AI
condition: a solo Bard gamebot can no longer treat its missing party as a
valid reason to cast group-only PvE add mez. Grouped add control, PvP mez,
healing, songs, and other classes are unchanged.

The Release source passed 1,981/1,981 server tests. The optional installer
still creates a separate playable copy with rollback; the selected normal
v0.31 game remains untouched. For a fresh install, use the
new Bard-guard patch
and, if you want to edit the class, its
matching source ZIP.
The download helper fetches the newly refreshed normal v0.31 base first.
The older Bard-and-beach-rats ZIP is superseded and not recommended for new
installs
; it and immutable tags remain available for historical use. This
maintenance does not add Darkness Falls and does not claim a live client test.

Historical v0.31b update — Bard combat and Shannon beach rats (September 25)

Sluaghbinder remains a separate, optional Hibernian class. Players who do
not want it should continue using normal v0.31
or preserved v0.3.
To add the class, use DOWNLOAD.AND.PLAY.v0.31b.cmd or the current patch linked
above. The September 25 patch ZIP
is retained for history but is superseded.
The installer copies a clean v0.3/v0.31 game into a new sibling folder; the
selected original stays untouched and the new copy keeps its rollback command.

  • Bard companions and autonomous gamebots no longer repeatedly mesmerize
their ordinary PvE kill target. They keep fighting and healing as secondary
healers. A grouped Bard may control a separate, full-health add attacking
the party, with a bounded retry delay.
  • Stationary companion Bards, Skalds, and Minstrels complete ordinary buffs
before song twisting resumes. Traveling companion Bards favor
speed/endurance; Skalds and Minstrels favor speed/health regeneration.
Autonomous gamebot song scheduling is unchanged.
  • Shannon Estuary gains a spaced level-1/2 beach-rat camp. The installer
applies the same repeat-safe correction to the copied database within its
existing transaction. Its pre-patch database backup and rollback restore
that copy; no account, character, or bot database is published.

Developers can use the maintained optional source branch
or matching editable source ZIP.
The branch Release build passed and the copied-database migration passed
disposable v0.3 and already-updated v0.31 checks, including backup restoration.
A fresh in-client test is not claimed. The original v0.31b Git tag and older
patch assets remain available. Quest story details remain in-game.

Previous v0.31b update — Bounty Masters plus optional Sluaghbinder (September 25)

Sluaghbinder remains a separate, optional Hibernian class. Normal v0.3 and v0.31 remain playable without it. No Git, coding, or LLM is needed.

  • With Sluaghbinder: use DOWNLOAD.AND.PLAY.v0.31b.cmd, or download the current patch linked above, extract it, and run INSTALL SLAUGHBINDER PATCH.cmd against a clean v0.3/v0.31 folder. It creates a separate sibling copy with a rollback command; the original folder is not changed. The September 25 bounty patch ZIP is historical and superseded.
  • Without Sluaghbinder: use normal v0.3 or v0.31. The optional class is not silently installed there.

The current optional patch includes the shared three-realm Bounty Master system: journal-tracked repeatable hunts, level-scaled rewards, unlimited rerolls with a half-XP penalty, free refresh of outleveled hunts, major level-50 boss contracts, and a red target dot on the local zone/dungeon map. The journal's BOUNTY MAP button opens the current map, so travel to the target area first. It also includes the long-journal login fix, variable-level species kill credit, and /stables route help.

Sluaghbinder characters still begin as Acolytes and can follow Muirenn's class path at level 5. Dullahan's Bulwark protects with blunt weapon and shield, Abhartach's Bane fights with scythe and plague magic, and Sluagh Covenant strengthens undead pets. Five linked epic quests unlock at levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50; story details remain in-game. The prior private pet textures, Dullahan and Zombie Defender appearances, Zombie Priest dagger, Covenant heal-over-time upkeep, and September 23 shared bot/route fixes remain included.

The old v0.31b patch ZIPs remain available as historical snapshots. Developers can use the maintained optional source branch or updated source ZIP. The v0.31b Git tag stays historical. Start with LLM-QUICKSTART.

Verification: Release build succeeded; full optional server suite 1,942 passed, 0 failed. Focused bounty/stable tests, client patch checks, payload hashes, and rollback-path checks passed. This does not replace an in-client gameplay test on a fresh download. The original local Offline DAoC installation and personal saves were not changed.

The customization code was made by AI coding agents under the owner's direction and testing. Upstream OpenDAoC and third-party client/data rights remain with their respective owners.

Offline DAoC v0.31 - Normal maintenance update

Latest v0.31 update — solo Bard stability (September 26)

This small maintenance refresh fixes solo Bard gamebots repeatedly disconnecting
and re-entering the world. A null-group check in the PvE add-mez behavior now
skips group-only control when a Bard is alone. Grouped Bard add control and
ordinary combat remain unchanged. The normal v0.31 game still has no
Sluaghbinder content
. The same fix is being carried into the optional
v0.31b and newer v0.32/v0.32b releases.

For a fresh normal install, use the existing DOWNLOAD AND PLAY.cmd helper;
its release manifest now selects
OfflineDAoC-v0.31-bard-guard-update.zip.
Developers can use the
v0.31 source ZIP
or the maintained source branch. The older Bard ZIP is retained only as a
historical artifact: it contains the solo-Bard disconnect bug and should not
be used for a new installation. The v0.3 seed and Git tags remain unchanged.
Release build: zero errors; server tests: 1,979 passed.
The isolated server was not restarted for an in-game verification of this fix.

Previous v0.31 update — Bard combat and Shannon beach rats (September 25)

This is the normal Classic + Shrouded Isles game, without Sluaghbinder.
Use the current DOWNLOAD.AND.PLAY.cmd helper and the fixed ZIP linked above;
the September 25 Bard ZIP is superseded by the September 26 fix.
The helper makes a new v0.31 folder from the preserved v0.3 seed; it does not
overwrite an existing game or save. Earlier v0.31 downloads and the v0.3
release remain available, and the v0.31 Git tag is unchanged.

  • Bard companions and autonomous gamebots no longer repeatedly mesmerize
their ordinary PvE attack target. They continue normal combat and retain
    Bard's secondary-healer role. A grouped Bard may mez a distinct, full-health
add attacking its party, with a retry delay.
  • Stationary companion Bards, Skalds, and Minstrels complete ordinary buffs
before songs can take their cast slot. When following a moving player, Bard
travel songs favor speed/endurance; Skald and Minstrel songs favor
speed/health regeneration. Autonomous gamebot song scheduling is unchanged.
  • Shannon Estuary's former single, incorrectly high-level beach rat is now
level 1, with ten spaced level-1/2 neighbors and normal respawns. A guarded,
repeat-safe migration applies only to the new downloaded copy's world data.

Developers can use the maintained normal source branch
or the matching editable source ZIP.
The optional class remains on the separate v0.31b release.
The branch Release build passed and the world migration passed disposable
v0.3-base and repeat-install checks. A separate fresh-client gameplay run has
not yet been claimed; the source test project requires the deliberately omitted
private server configuration. No personal database was packaged.

Previous v0.31 update — repeatable Bounty Masters (September 25)

This is still the normal Classic + Shrouded Isles game, without Sluaghbinder. The DOWNLOAD.AND.PLAY.cmd helper now selects OfflineDAoC-v0.31-bounties-update.zip for a new playable copy. The v0.3 release and every older v0.31 ZIP remain available; the v0.31 Git tag is not rewritten.

  • Bounty Masters in Cotswold, Mularn, and Mag Mell offer one repeatable hunt at a time. Levels 1–49 hunt a yellow-con monster species; the quest journal tracks kills and turn-in. Kills count matching species in the assigned zone even when individual spawns vary in level.
  • Normal completion awards class-appropriate gear and two XP bulbs at the assigned level, scaled by server XP. Unlimited target rerolls halve XP until the contract is finished; replacing a contract you have outleveled is free. Level-50 hunts instead offer major bosses, high-quality class gear, and gold without XP.
  • The journal's BOUNTY MAP button opens your current map. Its red target dot appears only while you are in the bounty's zone or dungeon. The master and /bountylocation explain this in game. /stables lists your realm's stable routes.
  • The new client and server package includes the journal-packet length fix, so a long bounty entry should not prevent login. It also carries forward the earlier v0.31 maintenance fixes.

This earlier bounty package is historical. For a new installation, use the
current helper and fixed Bard-guard ZIP above; see How to play.
Developers: use the maintained normal source branch
or the newest source ZIP linked above. The optional class is a separate
v0.31b release.

Verification: Release build succeeded; full normal server suite 1,940 passed, 0 failed. Focused bounty/stable tests passed, hash-guarded client patch tests passed, and the package hashes and root paths were checked. This does not replace an in-client gameplay test on a fresh download. The original local Offline DAoC installation and personal saves were not changed.

Previous v0.31 maintenance refresh — September 23

This is the normal Classic + Shrouded Isles game. It does not install Sluaghbinder. Use DOWNLOAD.AND.PLAY.cmd for a new playable folder. The preserved v0.3 release and older v0.31 assets remain available; no tag or existing save is replaced.

Earlier changes

  • Savages verify reachable targets inside their assigned camp and no longer let native instant buffs stall melee. Failed route checks are briefly cached rather than repeated every AI tick.
  • PvE parties recruit nearby available bots, can fight with a viable reduced roster after meetup no-shows, recover locally after nearby resurrection, and use per-corpse bounded wait timers.
  • Reduced dungeon parties can clear corridor blockers after entry. Koalinth and Vendo logs directly showed the old eight-member gate; Keltoi and Tepok were audited without speculative map or spawn changes.
  • Small parties avoid one repeatedly unproductive Salisbury spirit cell. Solo repeat-death recovery includes full rest, short-lived failed-camp avoidance, and capped no-XP retry pauses.
  • Mularn's audited low stable landing is corrected only after a confirmed ride. Boarding-range and first-leg route checks address repeat boarding and unreachable horse approaches without altering tickets or navmeshes.

That earlier update changed server code only. Its full normal server suite passed 1,909 tests. The AI-created customizations are under the owner's direction and testing; upstream OpenDAoC and third-party client/data rights remain with their respective owners.
