Release list
PKForge 3.0.2
A quick fix for 3.0.1.
- Moving a Pokémon to another slot in the PC no longer makes it disappear until you reopen the PC
- The Bank side panel updates right away after you edit or evolve a Pokémon
- Renaming a box updates the side panel, and deleting a box from the box overview slides the others back smoothly
PKForge 3.0.1
A follow-up to 3.0 with fixes from your reports, and a much better Bank.
Fixes
- The sprite pack no longer crashes the app around 3,900 files. It now downloads as one file, resumes if the connection drops, and tells you when it's already done
- FireRed/LeafGreen saves that failed with "ArgumentOutOfRangeException" open again
- Azahar and melonDS: PKForge now tells you how many saves it found after linking a folder, or which folder to pick if it found none. More Azahar folder layouts work, and melonDS saves next to your ROMs are found
- Rescan could silently do nothing after a stuck action. It now tells you, and unsticks itself
- Editing a Pokémon in the Bank: Save is always visible (X), and leaving with changes asks Save / Discard / Keep editing
- Suspected ROM hacks: "Edit at my own risk" now shows up right when you try to edit, no long-press needed
Bank
- Box management: see all your boxes at once, pick one up and move it (the others slide aside) or swap two, insert, delete, rename
- Wallpapers: every official box wallpaper from Ruby/Sapphire to Scarlet/Violet
- A side panel with the selected Pokémon's details and a real Pokédex entry from the games
- The Living Dex Autopilot lets you choose which box your living dex starts at
Everywhere
- Picking up a Pokémon now carries it in hand from slot to slot, in the Bank and your boxes
- Hold L or R to flip through boxes and pages
- Moving a selection to another box or game: choose the exact box and starting slot
- Home shows "Edit game · hold" so you know where cartridge settings are
Sprite pack data (sprites-1)
Offline sprite pack downloaded by the app from Settings. This is not an app release: download PKForge from the latest release.
Contents: Showdown animated sprites, HOME renders (lossless WebP) and item icons from PokeAPI/sprites.

PKForge 3.0
This is the big one. 3.0 took a lot of work: a new look across the whole app, a new PC, a proper summary screen, a Mystery Gift album, event flags, and a feature we're really proud of: the Living Dex Autopilot. A lot of what's in here came straight from your reports and ideas, so thank you.
Living Dex Autopilot
Every save you have, plus the Bank, working together toward one living dex.
- It finds a copy of every Pokémon you already own and brings them together in one place: your Bank or a game of your choice
- Spare trade-evolution Pokémon evolve on the way (you have two Kadabra? one becomes Alakazam)
- Tells you what's still missing and where you can catch it in your games
- Guided in 4 steps: choose where, review the plan in plain words, confirm, done
- Safe by design: nothing is copied, a game never gives up its only copy unless you allow it, Hardcore and ROM hack saves are left out, every save gets a restore point, and nothing is written until you confirm
- On dual screens, watch your Pokémon fly between cartridges on the bottom screen
A brand new PC
- Two cursor modes like the games: red to move one Pokémon, green to select many
- Select a whole box in one press, drag to select an area, keep your selection across boxes
- Bulk actions: move, send to the Bank or another game, export, release, legalize, make shiny or not, remove duplicates, heal
- Box manager built in: rename boxes, change wallpapers, lock, copy, empty
- Held item icon on every Pokémon, in your saves and in the Bank
- Can't find your Exp. Share? "Find held item" lists every Pokémon holding it
Summary screen
- A proper summary like the 3DS games: Info, Stats, Moves, Origin and Legality
- L/R to flip through your Pokémon
- On dual screens, the bottom screen follows your cursor as an inspector in the Bank and your boxes
Mystery Gift, rebuilt
- A real card album with search, filters and grouping by year or event
- Around 4,300 cards, with English titles
- Item gifts can now be received straight into your bag
- New key item events: Enigma Stone (HGSS), Liberty Pass (Black/White), Eon Ticket (ORAS) and the GS Ball for Crystal
Event flags
You asked for it: turn event flags and variables on and off, from Gen 1 to Gen 9, with PKHeX's labels, a warning on story-critical flags and a restore point on every change.
Legality tools
- "Suggest" buttons for met location, ball, moves and relearn moves, with a before/after preview
- Every move shows green or red, with the reason
- Legality report with a fix button for each problem, plus "Fix all safe"
- Paste a whole Showdown team or box at once
More control over each Pokémon
- Forms and form arguments (Rotom, Furfrou, Hoopa, Alcremie and more)
- Memories, handling trainer, OT gender
- Mints, Technical Records
- Star or square shiny, PID and encryption constant
World and events
- Fix the broken clock in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald so berries grow again
- Roamers from Gen 3 to 6, rerolled the legal way
- Apricorns and the Pokéwalker for HGSS
- Entralink and Dream World for Gen 5
- Re-fight the Gen 1 legendaries, reset the GS Ball event
ROM hacks and emulators
- GS Chronicles fully supported, with the author's blessing. Thanks G0LD!
- Hacks we don't support yet open read-only with a clear warning, and you can edit at your own risk
- New 3DS emulators: Citra MMJ and Lime3DS
- FireRed/LeafGreen, Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl now show the right version, read from your own Pokémon
A new look
- A new 3DS style across the whole app, cleaner and easier to read
- 81 new pixel art menu icons
- Stacked cartridges on Home when you have several saves of the same game
- The second screen stays in sync everywhere, and touch scrolling works on it
- Forms and megas now show the right sprite everywhere (Mega Charizard X and Y, regional forms, Alcremie, female forms and more)
- Much faster navigation
Fixes
- Unbound saves exported by mGBA open again
- RetroArch compressed saves no longer lose data on write
- Some BDSP, Gen 6 and Legends Z-A Pokémon in the Bank were read in the wrong format
- Several menu options that did nothing are working again
Thanks to everyone who sends saves, bugs and ideas. We finally made it to 3.0.
Full Changelog: v2.5.1...v3.0.0
PKForge 2.5.1
A quick follow-up to 2.5.0 with more ROM hack support and fixes from your reports.
GS Chronicles support
- Detected straight from the save file
- Party, all 25 PC boxes, bag, trainer info and Pokédex
- Species, moves, items and abilities come from the game's own engine source. Thanks G0LD!
ROM hacks the app doesn't know yet
Some hacks keep the Emerald save layout but use their own Pokémon (Emerald Ex, Emerald Enhanced, Black Pearl Emerald and others). Before, PKForge treated them like normal Emerald. Now:
- You get a warning when you open one: it's probably a ROM hack, some data may show wrong and editing is at your own risk
- It opens read-only by default. Long-press the save on Home and pick "Edit at my own risk" if you want to edit anyway
- Saves that a normal write would break stay read-only, no matter what
Home screen fixes
- Diamond/Pearl saves show the game again instead of the file name
- FireRed/LeafGreen, Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl now show the right version, read from your own Pokémon. If the save has none of yours yet, the app asks you once
- New art for FireRed/LeafGreen, Diamond/Pearl and GS Chronicles
More mystery gift events
- Enigma Stone (HeartGold/SoulSilver)
- Liberty Pass (Black/White)
- Eon Ticket (Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire)
- GS Ball event for Crystal (Celebi)
Full Changelog: v2.5.0...v2.5.1
PKForge 2.5.0
A lot of this came straight from your feedback, thanks to everyone who reported stuff.
Bank, built for collectors
- Bulk select: mark a range, a whole box, the whole bank, or everything a search finds
- Bulk move, send to a game, release and export
- Sort by dex number, name, nickname, level, shiny, type, origin game, rarity, gender, ball or date deposited, in either direction
- Filters for shiny, type, generation, origin game, legendary/mythical, eggs, gender and level range
- Compact the bank or sort a selection into fresh boxes in one go
- PKSM compatibility: import a PKSM bank (
/3ds/PKSM/banks/*.bnk) with its box names, or export yours back to the 3DS
Hardcore mode (Settings > MISC)
For RetroAchievements players. You can move, transfer, organise, back up and export, but you can't edit, generate or copy Pokémon. Restoring an old backup warns you if it would bring back a Pokémon that already left the save.
Transfers from any game to any game
- Newer to older works now (X/Y to Emerald and so on). The Pokémon gets adapted to the target game and the preview shows exactly what changes and whether it will be flagged, then you decide.
- The only refusal left is a species that doesn't exist in the target game, and the app tells you why.
Save safety
- Fixed the report where a ROM hack save came back with a level 100 mon, the party turned into eggs and a box was lost. Hack saves read with the wrong layout can't be written anymore.
- Any write that would touch slots it wasn't meant to touch gets refused before anything is saved.
Unbound and Radical Red
- Moves, abilities, held items and species now show and save correctly. Editing a mon no longer scrambles it.
- Hisui Rock, Black Augurite and Peat Block can be added to the bag.
Home screen
- One tile per game, whatever the language or emulator, with a save chooser when you have several
- Long-press a save to rename it, pick a color, set the game or hide it
- FireRed/LeafGreen and Ruby/Sapphire show as a pair until you pick one, since the save itself can't tell them apart
- Game info no longer gets cut off on the tiles
New tools
- Mystery gift key item events with the real event flags: Eon, Aurora and Mystic Ticket, Old Sea Map, Member Card, Oak's Letter, Azure Flute, Secret Key
- Gen 8/9 save block editor
- DPPt honey trees: see your Munchlax trees and make Munchlax show up for sure
- Evolve trade evolutions by hand (Machoke, Onix with Metal Coat, Karrablast/Shelmet...)
- Nature picker shows +Atk/-SpA and your Pokémon's real stats live
- Move, ability and item details right in the pickers, legal moves first
- Live stat previews while editing IVs, EVs and level
- Species card in the generator and a dry run before batch edits
- New icons for every menu option

how to get
Point at any Pokémon in the living dex, press A, then How to get. You get every mainline
game from Gen 1 to Gen 9 that hands that species out, grouped by generation, each with how
many ways it offers (Platinum · 4 ways · Wild, Eggs) or "Not obtainable here". Open a game
and every card is a real method: the route, the level range, and how it appears, grass,
surfing, Old Rod, Headbutt, a static, an egg, an in-game trade or an event. Repeats of the
same spot collapse into one card, so games with huge spawn tables stay readable. Press A on
a card and a legal one drops straight into an empty box slot. for the game you have open.
The storage tools and the in-game Pokédex actions give you the same thing scoped to just
your current game.
living dex tracker
Bank -> LIVING DEX. Your whole collection + bank plus whatever save is open as one
national dex: what you own in colour, what you don't as black silhouettes, a gold dot for
shiny. Flip to the shiny living dex, scope it to a single generation, or hit missing-only to
turn it into a to-do list, and the per-generation counts show where you're closest to
finishing.
bugfixes:
.srm dumps longer than the chip they came from (VBA-M style) were rejected as "not a recognized save file". They open now, and saving writes
them back at exactly the same size with the padding intact so your emulator keeps working.
for the moment incase it introduce any bugs for vba user, an untouched save still round-trips byte-for-byte.
for the pokepark, auto-invited residents that showed up as "POKEMON #XX" have their real names, existing
parks fix themselves the next time they load, no re-inviting. The resident journal also
gained an ORIGIN section: which game, which trainer, and which save that visitor came from.
Opening "Create a Pokémon" could pin every CPU core and send the fan screaming while it built the dex's sprite cache; the generation that appeared to hang is fine now.
fixed up/down navigation in the living dex grid.

PKForge 2.2.0
🎉 PKForge v2.2.0 is out!
I’ve been secretly working on this update for weeks, and honestly, it has been exhausting, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy discovering everything that’s waiting for you.
The biggest addition is Poképark 🌿
You can now bring Pokémon from your save or Bank into a living park with different habitats, wandering Pokémon, unique interactions, conversations, moods, social events, memories, offline activity, and plenty of little details to discover. Pokémon can interact with each other, make friends, have conflicts, calm each other down, fall in love, get stressed, become sad, and much more.
I’ve also hidden a lot of small surprises and easter eggs throughout the feature. I won’t spoil everything, so explore the park and see what you can find 👀
This update also includes:
• Poképark habitats with their own atmosphere and Pokémon
• Randomized park autofill
• More natural and varied Pokémon dialogue
• Pokémon-specific memories and interactions
• Offline time simulation and activity journals
• Park events, relationships, conflicts, and mood changes
• A new Poképark Android widget
• Save file export directly from the app
• Improved second-screen navigation
• Better Android widget behavior
• Improved Pokémon sizing and habitat presentation
• Fixes for Pokémon duplication on Gen 6 saves
• Fixes for Gen 6 Bank imports and exports
• Better LeafGreen and FireRed identification
• Dolphin support improvements for Colosseum and XD
• Several emulator linking fixes
• Various save writing and data persistence fixes
• Performance, stability, and UI improvements
Thank you to everyone who reported bugs, tested builds, shared saves, and gave feedback. A lot of the fixes in this release came directly from your reports.
