CODE_OF_CONDUCT
A primary goal of the Deep Dive developer community is to be inclusive to the largest number of contributors, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, nationality, religion, or technical background.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
We invite all those who participate in Deep Dive development and community discussions to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.
A supplemental goal of this Code of Conduct is to increase open source citizenship by encouraging contributors to recognize and strengthen the relationships between our actions and their effects on our community.
Communities mirror the societies in which they exist and active action is essential to create an inclusive community.
The following behaviors are expected and requested of all community members:
- Be considerate: Your contributions affect other contributors, users, and community members. Consider how your changes and communication impact others.
- Be respectful: Treat one another with respect. Disagreement is no excuse for poor manners or personal attacks. We expect members of the community to resolve disagreements constructively and respectfully.
- Be friendly and welcoming: Use welcoming and inclusive language. Demonstrate empathy, generosity, and patience toward other contributors and users.
- Be collaborative: Open source software is about collaboration and sharing. Foster transparency, constructive feedback, and mutual cooperation when designing features, addressing issues, or writing documentation.
- Understand different perspectives: Our community members come from varied backgrounds and experience levels. When disagreements occur, strive to understand the underlying technical or UX motivations behind different viewpoints rather than escalating conflict.
The following behaviors are considered unacceptable within our community:
- Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.
- Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
- Personal insults, hostility, or excessive unwarranted criticism.
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances, or the posting of sexually explicit or violent material.
- Publishing others' private information (such as personal email addresses, phone numbers, or physical locations) without explicit consent.
- Any other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional open source collaborative environment.
If you witness or are subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns regarding conduct within the Deep Dive community or contribution spaces, please reach out to the project maintainers directly via our issue tracker or communication channels.
Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of unacceptable behavior and have the authority and responsibility to take fair and appropriate remedial action in response to any behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, PRs, and other contributions that do not align with this Code of Conduct.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the official GNOME Code of Conduct and the Contributor Covenant, adhering to established community standards for GNOME Circle and GTK ecosystems.
