World Generation {#world-generation}

Overhauled world generation features large continents, tall mountains, vanilla-esque biomes and various types of wasteland biomes, where crops do not grow. Lapis Lazuli, Redstone and Emerald Ores still generate throughout the world, but copper, iron, gold and diamonds only generate in special ore deposit biomes, that can be identified by the signal stones with the biomes respective ores.

Large mountains made of smooth basalt are difficult to mine through, as smooth basalt takes roughly as long as obsidian in minecraft. This can make it difficult to build paths and railways connecting civs. However, climbing these mountains can provide the player with a great view of the terrain, and hiding behind a mountain could help keep a civ hidden.

As the name of the server suggests, the world is extremely large. Continents, added through the continents datapack, are estimated to be 5000-10000 blocks across, and separated by vast oceans. It is unlikely that all of the ore deposits will be featured on the starting continent, so players will have to travel to another continent, which takes very long. Smaller islands also generate around continents.

The world features wasteland biomes where crop growth is 95% slower, mobs are much stronger and crops and animals do not spawn. Oceans count as wastelands, separating continents. Arid and warm wastelands feature dead vegetation and trees, large fossils and a murky yellow sky. Cold wastelands are covered in powdered snow.

In certain biomes, fully grown crops generate, and can be harvested just as manually grown crops. This allows players to forage for food and unlock carrots, potatoes, melons and pumpkins to start their farms.

Geology {#geology}

Copper, iron, gold, diamonds and ancient debris only generate in exclusive ore deposit biomes. Deposit biomes always feature signal stones on their surface, which contain the ore that can be found below the surface. Each of the ores have a unique biome and signal stone, making them easily identifiable. Due to the importance of ores, settlements tend to be placed such that they are near one or multiple deposit biomes. Copper deposits are the most common, and generate in a stony mountain that tends to be near taiga biomes. The iron deposit biome is a flat plain, with many small lakes and islands, featuring lots of wild wheat; the vein itself is made of diorite with large pockets of pure iron ore1. The gold deposit biome features lots of sand and jungle trees; the vein itself is made of tuff and sandstone, with large pockets of pure gold ore1 (and traces of sponges). Ancient debris deposits only generate in the nether. It is unknown what ancient debris or diamond deposits look like.
1Descriptions are based on limited data gathered by travellers and miners, hence may be wrong.

Nether {#nether}

Nether and Overworld coordinates now connect 1:1. With the addition of the Amplified Nether datapack, the Nether terrain is much taller and harder to traverse. Nether biomes are still featured.

Since Zombified Piglins are always aggressive against players and break blocks, fortifying the Nether portal is the first task once the nether is reached. Additionally, a simple mob trap could be used to try fill the mob cap. Since Big Statics does not work in the Nether, it is possible to freely bridge across, though Ghasts and Skeletons may still pose a threat.

Players may want to collect Blackstone and Soul Soil/Sand for setting up an Enchanting Table, Quartz for Quartz armor and Redstone components, Soul Sand for water columns, Magma Cream for Blaze Rods and Ancient Debris for Netherite, among other items.
