Random Remap (for Ped, Weapon & Vehicle)

Grinch_ edited this page May 6, 2025 · 12 revisions

📝 Overview

This feature lets your model spawn with a random texture from a set of variations! For example, a chainsaw can appear in different colors or patterns each time you spawn it. 🪚🎨

This feature supports peds, weapons & vehicles but blood overlay is only available for weapons.

📌 Requirements

To use this feature, you'll need:

✅ A model (.dff file) to apply the randomized textures.
✅ A default texture (.txd file).
✅ Variation textures (.txd files) named with _remap.
Example:

    ChainSaw_remap1
    ChainSaw_remap2
    ChainSaw_remap3

✅ Blood overlay textures (_bld), named like:

    ChainSaw_bld
    ChainSaw_remap1_bld
    ChainSaw_remap2_bld

💡 Tip: The number in _remap1, _remap2, etc., is optional. Any suffix with _remap will work!

🚀 How to Set It Up

1️⃣ Apply the default texture to your model using 3ds Max, Blender, or ZModeler.
2️⃣ Add variation textures (_remap) to your .txd file using TXD Workshop, Magic.TXD, or GIMP.
3️⃣ Include blood overlay textures (_bld) for both default & remap variations.
4️⃣ Save and place your .dff & .txd files in the game directory.
5️⃣ Spawn the model in-game to see a random texture each time! 🎲

🎮 Example

Let's say you have a chainsaw model:

🔴 Default Texture: ChainSaw (Red)
🟢 Variation 1: ChainSaw_remap1 (Green)
🔵 Variation 2: ChainSaw_remap2 (Blue)
🟡 Variation 3: ChainSaw_remap3 (Yellow)
🩸 Blood Overlays: ChainSaw_bld, ChainSaw_remap1_bld, etc.
