RAW mode is a generic I/Q quality monitor. It does not decode a specific radio standard. It checks whether the selected I/Q signal is suitable for recording, replay or further analysis.
- DC - amount of DC offset in the I/Q samples. High DC can create a false signal around the center frequency.
- Clipping - percentage of samples that hit or approach digital full scale. Clipping distorts the signal and can break decoders.
- Stability - short-term level variation in dB. Large instability can indicate fading, overload, bad gain settings or an intermittent signal.
- RMS dBFS - average I/Q level relative to digital full scale.
- Peak - highest sample value observed in the current window.
Adjust gain so the signal is clearly above noise but does not clip. If clipping is visible, reduce LNA/VGA gain, disable RF AMP, or use attenuation before the receiver.
RAW mode is useful before making I/Q recordings, because clipped or badly centered recordings cannot be fully repaired later.
