Release list
Ernesto 0.3.0
Ernesto 0.3.0 is a stable release with plug-and-play project checks.
Install and restart Claude Code: Ernesto appears immediately. Open /ernesto evidence and choose Check project, or type /ernesto check. It detects an existing npm/pnpm/yarn/bun test or check script. No helper-cache paths to copy, required project JSON, or dependency downloads.
To upgrade an existing installation, refresh its marketplace metadata, update the plugin in your original scope, then restart Claude Code:
claude plugin marketplace update ernesto
claude plugin update ernesto@ernesto --scope userReplace user with your actual installation scope if different. Restarting loads the new cached version. Third-party marketplace auto-updates remain a separate Claude Code setting.
New installations:
claude plugin install ernesto --marketplace wavect/ernestoChanges:
- Explicit native Check project button and slash command; nothing runs at startup or during comparison.
- Actual command exit and input freshness remain separate. Generic command completion does not claim verified test counts or coverage.
- Bounded command output stays in session memory and appears through Details.
- Existing configured Vitest checks preserve custom roots and filters. Supported Vitest-only projects initialize missing defaults internally on the explicit check action.
- Default-on QA observation, remembered workspace preferences, quiet/hide/reduced-motion controls, terminal pixel artwork and optional sarcastic banter.
Reviewed source: bba877d5a154bda69eaffade2f36e16b39888848, merged from PR #31. All 84 packaged files match the reviewed candidate. Source archive SHA-256:

Validation: 39 official host tests, 36 Node tests including real Vitest negative paths, strict SDK validation, formatting, deterministic package/privacy checks and npm audit with zero vulnerabilities. Merge-commit CI passed. Real macOS CLI checks covered a config-free npm command, native button execution, Vitest initialization/pass/stale/fail, narrow/wide and light/dark layouts, installed-copy loading and local 0.2.0-to-0.3.0 update/removal. The 46-second terminal recording uses the exact released runtime; its “candidate/unreleased” overlay describes the time of recording. No model prompt or call was used.
Tested UI: Claude Code 2.1.296 on macOS 26.5.1 arm64. Real generic execution tested npm with Node 24.3.0; pnpm/yarn/bun selection has deterministic tests, not real execution qualification. Detailed Vitest evidence requires Node major 24 and local Vitest 4.1.11. Desktop and other operating systems remain unqualified. Historical performance measurements are not new 0.3.0 measurements.
Project checks execute project code and may use the inherited environment, networks and filesystem. Ernesto adds no model calls, telemetry, external requests, dependency installs or permission decisions. Off/hide discards late results, but an already launched command may continue until completion or its two-minute timeout. Input snapshots are bounded local observations, not whole-project acceptance or tamper-proof attestation.
Original source is MIT; Wavect mascot artwork has separate ASSET_LICENSE.md terms. GitHub marketplace distribution is available; no Anthropic directory listing or endorsement is claimed. Earlier immutable releases remain unchanged. The versioned release record is authoritative; source README/demo references to the pre-publication candidate describe the reviewed snapshot.
Ernesto 0.1.0
Ernesto 0.1.0
Stable release of Wavect's Claude Code companion with optional scoped Vitest evidence. Companion controls include quiet, reduced motion, hide/show and chocolate. QA is explicit and per workspace; the reviewed local helper records scalar results and start/end input snapshots. Mood never changes evidence. The mod makes no model calls, sends no telemetry and does not automatically run tests.
The owner requested stable publication on 14 October 2026. This is a normal release, marked Latest. The earlier immutable v0.1.0-rc.1 release remains available. Stable version metadata and displayed help agree on 0.1.0; companion/evidence/helper behavior is unchanged. This version also includes bounded sanitized CI failure receipts. A separate deliberately failing fixture kept CI failed and produced only the reviewed receipt; that fixture is absent from this source.

Install and update
Use tested Claude Code 2.1.296 terminal. Shell installation defaults to user scope:
claude plugin install ernesto --marketplace wavect/ernestoInside Claude Code:
/plugin install ernesto --marketplace wavect/ernesto
Fallback:
claude plugin marketplace add wavect/ernesto
claude plugin install ernesto@ernestoRefresh the marketplace catalog, then update an existing installation:
claude plugin marketplace update ernesto
claude plugin update ernesto@ernestoRestart Claude Code, run /ernesto status and confirm version 0.1.0 and the companion. QA starts off each session. Match installation scope when updating/removing. Third-party marketplace auto-update is off by default. Scoped removal is claude plugin uninstall ernesto@ernesto; optional claude plugin marketplace remove ernesto also removes that marketplace's plugins. Review separately owned project configuration/evidence before deleting anything.
For a source pin, review and install the exact tagged checkout:
git clone --branch v0.1.0 --single-branch https://github.com/wavect/ernesto.git tag-checkout
git -C tag-checkout rev-parse HEAD
claude plugin install ernesto --marketplace ./tag-checkoutThe expected HEAD is 350d19f215364e1e5bb99e2dd4da9f8f44ed931d. Resolve existing marketplace registration deliberately; preserve unrelated plugins and keep the local source available. See the pinned install guide and recovery guide.
Verification and downloads
Before publication: 19 Node tests, 23 official host tests, strict plugin/marketplace validation, formatting and zero npm vulnerabilities passed. Final package/privacy tests passed. Both exact reviewed-head GitHub checks passed. Tested environment: macOS 26.5.1 arm64, Claude Code 2.1.296, Node 24.3.0 and project-local Vitest 4.1.11.
The fresh actual stable CLI demo is 25 seconds, 960x800, H264, 147,381 bytes. It shows QA off, real pass, edit/stale, real failure and chocolate retaining failed evidence. It uses synthetic arithmetic data and faithful terminal-cell crops with pauses shortened, zero model calls. All 11 runtime/helper hashes and 15 exported media hashes matched the stable source; four caption/transcript languages accompany it. Existing media filenames are retained for URL compatibility.
Download all three assets: ernesto-source.tar.gz, CONTENTS.sha256.json, SHA256SUMS. Archive: 72 regular files, 2,938,298 bytes, SHA256 80181daf607c75ce1c00b15a6eddc278f9666af29e528596ebf7b8318ce958bc. Run shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS and compare archive contents with the inventory. Two deterministic exports matched every source file. Postpublication verification passed as recorded below.
Boundaries
Source code is MIT. Wavect artwork/trademarks use separate ASSET_LICENSE.md terms. Wavect charges no code fee; Claude access and user-run tests may have their own costs. No Anthropic directory listing, endorsement or affiliation is claimed.
Local evidence is forgeable by same-user processes. Snapshot matches cover reviewed inputs at comparison time, not immutable execution, business correctness or external services. No Desktop Code, Windows/WSL/cloud or actual Linux terminal UI support claim. Human five-minute comprehension testing, formal accessibility certification and sustained field-performance validation remain unperformed.
Public release verification, 14 October 2026
GitHub reports draft false, prerelease false, immutable true and Latest for release 412314216, published 2026-10-14T03:37:12Z. The signed release and all three downloaded asset attestations passed. Independent anonymous downloads matched every approved asset byte; all 72 archive files matched the inventory and tag. All 74 installed tracked files matched main/tag 350d19f215364e1e5bb99e2dd4da9f8f44ed931d, tree d4dae64d592706cbcab99dd349f6690139ecd798. Future default-main changes need fresh reconciliation.
A public rc.1 installation was preserved before publication, its catalog refreshed, and its scoped plugin update returned updated, from 0.1.0-rc.1 to 0.1.0. A fresh actual CLI session loaded the new help and companion with QA off. This proves that specific upgrade; a downgrade and future transitions were not exercised.
Clean public combined and fallback shell lifecycle checks passed, including project scope, update, disable/re-enable, uninstall, marketplace removal and reinstall. Actual in-session combined project installation and fallback user installation each loaded the stable help and companion immediately and after a separate fresh restart. All four cases matched all 74 tagged files. Cached official host tests 23/23 and strict validation passed; the explicitly invoked installed helper ran one real passing test, exit 0 with a complete snapshot. Owned profiles/plugins/catalogs were cleaned and unrelated sentinels preserved. These checks made no model calls.
Website PR298 and stable-version follow-up PR300 are merged into master. PR300 merged as e1c7ce0af29597a6ecb7231d9ecea41c223fb3d8 after both exact-head checks passed. The existing GitHub integration handles deployment; no Cloudflare account access is required. The GitHub project release is independent of an Anthropic directory listing.
Ernesto 0.1.0-rc.1
Ernesto 0.1.0-rc.1, prerelease
Superseded by the stable Ernesto 0.1.0 release. Default public marketplace commands now resolve to 0.1.0. The rc.1 results below are historical checks of the recorded source. To retain rc.1, use the exact-tag source-pin instructions below; its immutable tag and three original assets are unchanged.
A full Claude Code companion with optional scoped Vitest evidence. Includes quiet,
reduced motion, hide/show, chocolate, workspace preferences and a keyboard evidence
pane. The explicit helper records structured scalar results and actual process
completion, start/end input snapshots, omissions and observation gaps. Mood never
changes QA evidence. No mod telemetry, automatic tests or separate model calls.
Reviewed implementation: merged PR26, 2a0b79d.
Released source: 64a205c.
Final four-document review: #27.
Runtime, helper and recorded media are unchanged from the merged implementation.
Archive SHA-256: ca2ab6b344d68b20196ca6d9d541e14c3bd914daf81ece0b6a507852021f33e2.
Tested development baseline: Claude Code 2.1.296 terminal on macOS 26.5.1 arm64;
Node 24.3.0 and project-local Vitest 4.1.11. Both exact-head GitHub workflows passed.
Local checks: 23 official host tests, 16 Node tests, strict validation, formatting,
zero npm vulnerabilities, deterministic public-content and metadata inspection.
Clean-profile local marketplace install/update/scoped uninstall/reinstall passed.
Anonymous public-source shell combined and fallback installation passed in user
and project scopes, including removal/reinstall. The installed cache matched all
72 tracked source files byte-for-byte; copied-source host tests (23), strict
validation and the explicitly invoked installed helper (one passing test) passed.
Interactive combined project and fallback user installation, fresh-session
companion/status loading and scoped cleanup passed without model calls. These source-main checks do not certify a tagged release.
The actual 25-second candidate CLI recording has four caption/transcript languages.
Source MIT; Wavect mascot artwork and trademarks have separate terms in
ASSET_LICENSE.md. Wavect charges no code fee; Claude access and user tests can
have their own costs. No Anthropic endorsement or affiliation is implied.
Known limits: same-user local records are forgeable; snapshots/observations cannot
prove immutable execution or business correctness. External services, time,
secrets and excluded inputs are outside the fingerprint. No Desktop Code,
Windows/WSL/cloud or real Linux terminal UI support claim; no accessibility
certification or sustained/large-project performance claim.
Install, verify and remove
These commands passed anonymous post-publication checks on Claude Code
2.1.296, including combined/fallback shell and interactive installation, fresh
status/companion loading, update, disable/re-enable and scoped removal. The
marketplace fetched main at bf51d1e; all 72
installed files match the immutable tagged source. Future main changes require
new reconciliation; registration alone does not prove a working loaded mod.
Shell combined installation (default user scope):
claude plugin install ernesto --marketplace wavect/ernestoIn-session combined installation, with source and scope confirmation:
/plugin install ernesto --marketplace wavect/ernesto
Shell fallback:
claude plugin marketplace add wavect/ernesto
claude plugin install ernesto@ernestoThe in-session fallback uses /plugin marketplace add wavect/ernesto, then
/plugin install ernesto@ernesto. For shell project/local installation add
--scope project or --scope local. Verify claude --version,
claude plugin list and the installed source/version, restart Claude Code,
then run /ernesto status and observe the companion. QA starts off.
Update and temporary disable/re-enable:
claude plugin update ernesto@ernesto
claude plugin disable ernesto@ernesto
claude plugin enable ernesto@ernestoRemoval:
claude plugin uninstall ernesto@ernestoMatch project/local uninstall scope to installation. Optional marketplace
removal is claude plugin marketplace remove ernesto; it removes all plugins
from that marketplace. Run /ernesto forget confirm before uninstall to clear
only this workspace's Ernesto preferences. Project configuration and evidence
are separately owned; inspect and remove only deliberately created files.
See the pinned installation guide,
evidence/helper guide
and release/recovery guide
for setup, retention, troubleshooting and reviewed rollback behavior.
Current-version source pin
A clean-profile clone/install/reinstall and fresh-session load were also verified
at the exact published tag. For an isolated installation, review the source and
use the intended installation scope:
git clone --branch v0.1.0-rc.1 --single-branch https://github.com/wavect/ernesto.git tag-checkout
git -C tag-checkout rev-parse HEAD
claude plugin install ernesto --marketplace ./tag-checkoutThe expected HEAD is 64a205c66e093961b9eaf4d39d5d1fa3559b8502.
Keep the reviewed checkout available while using a local marketplace. Use a clean
profile or first resolve the existing ernesto registration without removing
unrelated plugins. This pins the current released version; it does not prove a
previous-version downgrade. No earlier public Ernesto release exists.
Download verification
The release assets are ernesto-source.tar.gz, CONTENTS.sha256.json and
SHA256SUMS. The source archive contains 70 files and is 2,936,888 bytes.
After publication, download all three and run shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.
Compare extracted file digests with the inventory before calling the
released contents verified. The expected archive digest is recorded above.
Publication state
The owner approved publication on 14 October 2026 (Europe/Vienna).
This is a prerelease, not the latest stable release. The tag identifies the
reviewed final source above. GitHub reports the release immutable; signed
release and all three asset attestations passed. Anonymous downloads matched
all three approved assets, and all 70 archived files matched the inventory and
tag. Independent post-publication installed-copy checks passed: 23 host tests,
strict validation and one real helper test. Both interactive installation routes
and fresh sessions loaded the expected version/companion. Temporary scopes
were cleaned without changing unrelated settings. Same-version update returned
up_to_date; no later-version upgrade/downgrade is claimed. Website activation/deployment
remains a separate release-gated action. See docs/release.md for the verification
sequence and recovery.
