Limits
This is a public pre-release. Real-host verification is user-reported for the current Codex desktop host. No cross-platform host matrix or external authoritative benchmark is included, and production readiness is not claimed.

v0.5.11 — Keep widget title and body in sync
What changed
Codex Text Control 0.5.11 fixes a reported canvas mismatch where the current widget title could appear above body text from an older conversation or authoritative revision.
- Client-side partial widget payloads no longer advance the title without a complete matching body.
- Server-side custom titles now require the matching
sourceTextcandidate body in the same call. - The single continuous Markdown canvas and revision workflow remain unchanged.
Verification
npm test: 114/114 passednpm run check: passednpm run probe:mcp: passedgit diff --check: passed
Limits
This is a public pre-release patch. The evidence covers the reported mismatch paths and automated contracts; it does not claim production readiness, cross-platform host compatibility, or an external authoritative benchmark. Final real-host confirmation still requires one user click-through after restarting Codex.
Codex Text Control 0.5.9: One Continuous Context Canvas
Why this release
Long AI conversations often accumulate repeated requirements and small corrections across many messages. The previous canvas reduced repetition, but row-by-row and table-cell controls still made whole-document selection and editing awkward.
What changed
- Edit the complete authoritative Markdown body in one continuous text area.
- Use
Ctrl+A, copy, paste, and whole-document replacement as expected in a normal document. - Keep canvas, source, and final-review views on the same exact string so untouched Markdown is not reformatted.
- Review and confirm AI-provided full-document or extension-point candidates without changing an extra character first.
- Recover the draft and retry after save timeouts or a partial extension-point commit failure.
- Keep a visible left-edge keyboard focus indicator without restoring row boxes.
Verification
95/95automated tests passed.- JavaScript syntax checks and the MCP probe passed.
- npm reported
0known production-dependency vulnerabilities. 96registry signatures and11provenance attestations passed.- GitHub Actions passed
5/5jobs for the exactv0.5.9commit on Windows and Linux with Node.js 22 and 24.
Important limitation
This is a pre-release. The 0.5.9 UI has not yet completed a reinstall-and-click verification inside the real Codex desktop host. It also has no cross-platform host matrix or external authoritative benchmark for context-canvas usability. This release does not claim production readiness, universal installation compatibility, or superiority over competing projects.
Rollback
Reinstall 0.5.8+codex.20260901204256 to restore the previous block-and-table canvas. Keep the project .codex-text-control/ directory; the revision format is unchanged.
