A vanilla-assets-only Valheim mod centered on recruitable, levelable Dvergr companions. Free a corrupted Dvergr instead of killing it, and it becomes an ally that fights beside you, levels up, tends your workstations, sails your ships, and follows you through portals.
Lost Scrolls II is a spiritual sequel to the deprecated Thunderstore mod Lost Scrolls (TaegukGaming) — a continuation of its story, rebuilt from the ground up as a new mod.
- Installation — get the mod running in a couple of minutes.
- Recruiting Companions — the Communion Rite: how to free a corrupted Dvergr and make it your ally.
- Companion Commands — the hotkeys: feed/heal, stance (Follow/Guard/Standby), rename, and travelling with you by ship and portal.
-
Companion Inventory — each ally's own pack: open it with
Y, and let it pick up loot, eat food, drink meads, and carry your gear (within a weight limit). - Companion Leveling — how allies earn XP, grow stronger, and show their level.
- Companion Chores — put allies to work at vanilla workstations: smelting, refining, cooking, brewing, farming, animal care, and hauling.
- Dvergr Duels — non-lethal companion-vs-companion sparring between players.
- Communion Totems — seal an ally into a carriable totem and summon it back later, level intact.
- The Story — what to expect from the mod's lore (no spoilers).
A companion system built entirely on existing Valheim creatures and prefabs. Every recruitable Dvergr is a vanilla Dvergr with new behavior attached — no new models, textures, sounds, or asset bundles. Almost everything you do with a companion is a hover + hotkey interaction; the one panel — a companion's inventory — is just the game's own chest window, so there's nothing new to learn.
- Not a new-creature mod — it reuses the four vanilla Dvergr types (Rogue, Fire Mage, Ice Mage, Support Mage).
- Not a "tame with food" system — you free a corrupted Dvergr through a rite, you don't domesticate a wild animal.
- Not a quest-text mod on its own — the optional story beats are delivered through the sibling mod Valheim ServerGuide (see The Story). The companion mechanics work fully without it.
Lost Scrolls II uses only vanilla Valheim assets. Every effect, sound, and item you see already exists in the base game — recruiting simply changes a Dvergr's allegiance and gives it new behavior.
The story content is delivered through Valheim ServerGuide, a separate, optional mod. Install it alongside Lost Scrolls II for the narrative descent and the in-game Companion Handbook; skip it and every gameplay feature still works.
