NetWatch can use subtitles embedded in a release and optional online results from OpenSubtitles or SubDL.
- Open Settings → Credentials on Windows.
- Add an OpenSubtitles or SubDL API key.
- Start playback and open Tracks.
The saved key is never displayed. Settings shows only whether the provider is configured. Current key formats are listed in the Windows requirements.
Open Tracks in the player or press S.
- Select Off to disable subtitles.
- Select an embedded subtitle track when the release contains one.
- Choose a language to search configured online providers.
- Select an online result to download and load it.
- Adjust subtitle sync in 100 ms steps. Select the displayed offset to reset it to zero.
Changing from an online subtitle to an embedded track releases the cached external file.
Open Tracks in the Android player.
- Select an embedded audio or subtitle track.
- Select Find English to load the first English online result supplied by the PC.
- Set subtitle Size to Small, Medium, or Large.
- Set Background to None, Shadow, or Box.
- Set Contrast to Normal or High.
- Use Reset appearance to restore the defaults.
Android stores appearance preferences locally. Downloaded subtitle files are temporary and are removed when playback ends or the next cleanup runs.
- Confirm at least one subtitle provider is configured on the PC.
- Try another provider or release if no matching result exists.
- Check that the title, year, season, and episode are correct.
- For embedded tracks, choose another release if the expected language is absent.
- For timing problems on Windows, adjust sync rather than changing the stream position.
