What changed in Archway β€” 24 to 31 August 2026

Everything below is live on the beta environment. These are the changes you can see or feel while using the app; the first of them landed on the Wednesday.

New β€” capability that was not there before Β Β·Β  Improved β€” existing behaviour made better Β Β·Β  Fixed β€” something that was wrong Β Β·Β  Changed β€” deliberately different, and worth knowing.

Wednesday 26 August β€” subscriptions and billing

  • Fixed β€” Buying a subscription now takes payment straight away and activates immediately.
  • Fixed β€” Subscriptions show their real status, instead of reporting "Cancelled" whenever anything went wrong.
  • Fixed β€” The inactive-tenancy page is no longer a dead end; you can navigate away from it.
  • Improved β€” My Subscriptions loads far faster: it no longer re-checks every subscription with the payment provider on each visit.
  • Improved β€” A new tenancy now names each of its workspaces after the region it serves.
  • Improved β€” Extra breathing room at the bottom of the subscription view, so the last row is no longer against the edge.
  • Improved β€” Two product prices were retired from the catalogue.

Friday 28 August β€” navigation moves to the app bar

  • New β€” Navigation has moved out of the side menu and into the app bar at the top of every screen.
  • Fixed β€” A failed sign-in now shows a clear message instead of leaving the app unresponsive.

Saturday 29 August β€” forms and actions

  • New β€” You are warned before leaving a page while adding or editing a record, so work is no longer lost by accident.
  • New β€” Tenant admins now get a Tenant Center button on their store while it has no products set up yet.
  • Fixed β€” Every action now appears in the app-bar menu; it could previously open with nothing in it.
  • Fixed β€” Actions that have been switched off no longer appear on screen.
  • Improved β€” Dialogs open with the first field already focused, so you can start typing immediately.

Sunday 30 August β€” app bar, pickers and the store

  • New β€” Tenant Center and Profile are now reachable directly from the app bar.
  • Fixed β€” The app no longer occasionally sits on a spinner and never finishes loading.
  • Fixed β€” Sign In and Sign Up are only offered on a store when that store is actually open for business.
  • Improved β€” The app-bar menu lists every available action, and is hidden on screens where it does not apply.
  • Improved β€” The app-bar menu is easier to read, with a clearer background and a highlight as you move down it.
  • Improved β€” Fields that offer a list now show a dropdown arrow and read "Search here or select a value", rather than looking like a plain search box.
  • Fixed β€” A store that cannot take payments yet says so in plain words, instead of showing an internal error.
  • Fixed β€” Navigation actions now work from every screen, not only the ones that had been updated one at a time β€” previously some simply did nothing when pressed.
  • Improved β€” Menus inside a screen now look the same as the app-bar menus, rather than each having their own style.

Monday 31 August β€” staying put after a save

  • Fixed β€” Saving a record you are editing in a pop-up no longer closes it. Create a Product and you stay on it, ready to add Prices β€” no more finding it in the list and opening it again.
  • Fixed β€” Signing out asks you to confirm once, not twice.
  • Fixed β€” The permission switches on the role screens were invisible, drawn in a colour that could not be seen against the background.
  • Fixed β€” Adding a user to a role while a tenancy or workspace is being set up no longer fails.
  • Improved β€” Buttons that show only an icon now name themselves when you hover over them.
  • Improved β€” The app bar is inset from the edges of the window, lining up with the content below it.
  • Improved β€” Fields on the role screens fill the width available, so they line up with the ones around them.
  • Changed β€” The Security Center is hidden for now. Its screens still assume they were opened as a full page rather than in a pop-up, and it is back once that is reworked.

Found something odd? Tell us what you were doing, which screen you were on, and roughly when β€” that trio is usually enough for us to track it down.
