What changed in Archway — help, keys and plans

These are the changes you can see or feel while using the app.

The theme of this release is finding your way: help a click away on the screens that need it, the keys and identifiers your software needs easier to copy, and lists in the order you set.

New — capability that was not there before  ·  Improved — existing behaviour made better  ·  Fixed — something that was wrong  ·  Changed — deliberately different, and worth knowing.

Help

  • New — Screens with a help page have a ? button at the top right that opens it in a new tab.
  • New — A product can have a Help Url. Your customers' subscriptions to it then get a ? button that opens your product's help.
  • New — The Getting started guide is split up: Payment providers, Products and Authentication providers each have their own page.

Keys and identifiers

  • Changed — Copy Keys on a subscription copies both keys your software needs — the subscription's and its customer account's — in one go, each labelled. It is now a button at the top left.
  • Changed — Copy Key on a customer account is now a button at the top left.
  • New — Copy Identifier on a product and on a product plan, in the ⋮ menu, copies the identifier your software sends to the API.

Archway's own plans

  • New — Four new plans sit between the existing ones: Indie Pro, Startup Pro, SME Pro and Unicorn Pro, each priced halfway to the next plan up, for halfway as many users.
  • Changed — The Self-Hosted plan is now called Enterprise.

Screens

  • Fixed — Lists with an order of their own — a product's plans, prices and features — now follow it, rather than the order the rows were added in.
  • Improved — Each group of buttons shows its main action as a button and keeps the rest in the ⋮ menu.
  • Improved — Dialogs use more of a small phone's screen, and buttons sit closer together.
  • Improved — A tenancy's logo on its subscription fits on a small phone.

Found something odd? Tell us what you were doing, which screen you were on, and roughly when — that trio is usually enough for us to track it down.
