That link picks the right file for your computer. Or choose yourself:
| System | Download |
|---|---|
| Mac (Apple silicon or Intel) | FrameDeck-mac.dmg |
| Windows 10/11 (x64 or ARM) | FrameDeck-windows-setup.exe |
| Linux and Raspberry Pi | The install command below |
| iPhone, iPad, Android | No download: see Tablets and Phones |
Portable .zip / .tar.gz versions are on the Releases page.
Needs macOS 12 Monterey or newer.
- Open
FrameDeck-mac.dmgand drag FrameDeck into Applications. The same file works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. - Open it. FrameDeck isn't notarized by Apple yet, so the first time macOS says it can't check it for malware. Click Done.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
Or skip steps 2–3 by running this once in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/FrameDeck.app
The first time you turn on network sharing, macOS asks whether FrameDeck may accept incoming connections. Click Allow. The Now playing widget asks for permission to see what Spotify or Music is playing.
Run FrameDeck-windows-setup.exe. It installs the right version for your PC (x64 or ARM). FrameDeck isn't signed yet, so if Windows says it protected your PC, click More info → Run anyway. When you turn on network sharing, allow FrameDeck through the Windows firewall if asked.
Paste this into a terminal:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Asmo7791/framedeck/main/install.sh | sh
It works out your machine and installs the right package: the .deb on Ubuntu, Debian and Raspberry Pi OS (including 32-bit Pi OS on a 64-bit Pi), or an AppImage in ~/.local/bin elsewhere. Run it again any time to update.
You can also download the files yourself from the Releases page: FrameDeck-linux-amd64.deb / FrameDeck-linux-x86_64.AppImage for PCs, -arm64 for 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS (Pi 4 or 5), -armv7l for 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS. A Pi can also simply show a screen from another computer in a browser: see Raspberry Pi and Kiosks.
In FrameDeck's data folder: Help → Open Data Folder. Use Export layout to back up a screen to a file.
