Mac: "FrameDeck can't be opened" / "Apple could not verify…" / "is damaged". FrameDeck isn't notarized yet. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or run
xattr -cr /Applications/FrameDeck.appin Terminal. See Installing. - Windows: "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway.
- Both devices must be on the same network (not a guest Wi-Fi).
- Settings → Share displays on my network must be on.
- The firewall on the computer running FrameDeck must allow it. Mac: System Settings → Network → Firewall → Options. Windows: allow FrameDeck when asked, or in Windows Security → Firewall → Allow an app.
- The link uses the computer's IP address, which can change. Give the computer a reserved IP address in your router and copy the link again.
- FrameDeck uses port 47820, or the next free one if that's busy. Copy the link from the app again if it stopped working.
-
A display shows the wrong layout or nothing. Check the link's
screen=matches a screen that still exists. Openingdisplay.htmlwithout a screen shows a list to choose from. - Displays don't come back after a restart. Turn on Settings → Open FrameDeck when I log in (Mac and Windows) and leave the displays open when you quit.
- A tablet goes to sleep. Set auto-lock to Never while charging; on iPad, use Guided Access.
See the troubleshooting section of NZXT Kraken LCD.
- Weather or other data shows an error. The service may be down or your internet offline. FrameDeck keeps showing the last data it got.
- Calendar events are empty. Use the iCal ("secret address in iCal format") link of your calendar, not the normal web link.
- Now playing doesn't work. It needs a Mac, and Spotify or Music running. Allow FrameDeck when macOS asks to control them (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation).
- A web page widget is blank. Many sites don't allow being embedded in other pages.
Open an issue with your FrameDeck version (shown at the bottom of Settings), system, and what you see.
