Monitors

Show a FrameDeck screen fullscreen on a spare monitor, a TV, or your laptop screen.

  1. Make a screen the same size as the monitor. Under Screens, click + Add. Your connected displays are listed first with their real resolution, so the layout matches pixel for pixel. When you plug in a new monitor, FrameDeck offers to make a screen for it.
  2. Design it. Add widgets from the left, or add a page from a preset.
  3. Show it. Click Show on a display at the top right and pick the monitor. It opens fullscreen. Press Esc to close it, ← → to flip pages.
  4. Make it permanent (optional). In Settings, turn on Open FrameDeck when I log in. Displays that were showing when you quit open again by themselves, so a spare monitor works like a picture frame.

Tips

  • High-resolution ("Retina") screens are listed with their real pixel size and what they "look like", for example 3024 × 1964, looks like 1512 × 982. Use the real size.
  • View → Close All Displays (⌘⇧W / Ctrl+Shift+W) closes every display window at once.
  • To show a screen on a computer that isn't running FrameDeck, use a browser link instead: see Raspberry Pi and Kiosks.
