Manual Sort
You can Sort your Tabs manually to keep everything in check and ordered the way you want it.
To read about how to automatically Sort your Tabs, please read this article.
To read about Pinned Tabs, please read this article.
If you'd like to Sort your Tabs manually, you can do so in 3 ways.
If you've set your Tabs to be automatically sorted, performing any operation removes the automatic sorting mechanism.
If you have a mix of Pinned and Unpinned Tabs, these actions (unless specified) won't allow you to set a Tab as Pinned or remove it from the Pinned list; in fact, these operations take into account whether a Tab is currently Pinned to determine where to place it without disrupting the Pinned list.
You can simply drag and drop your Tabs from the Salesforce Setup page whenever you want, wherever you want to appear in the list.
The operation movement is horizontal.
There are 2 ways to open the Manage Tabs modal
- When you're on a Salesforce Setup page, right-click on the page then move your mouse to
Again, Why Salesforceand clickManage Tabsin the sub-menu - Open the popup and click on
Manage Tabs
The modal will open with all your Tabs displayed. You can reorder your Tabs with drag and drop using the 6 dots on the left of each row.
The operation movement is vertical.
When you're on a Salesforce Setup page, right-click on the page then move your mouse to Again, Why Salesforce and click Move Tab in the sub-menu; move again your mouse to the option you'd like your selected Tab to be moved by.
Example of one-shot actions are as hereby provided:
- Make First
- Move Left
- Move Right
- Make Last
- Pin (will add the selected Tab to the Pinned list)
- Unpin (will remove the selected Tab from the Pinned list)
We have 6 items (A, B, C, D, E, F) and the first 3 (A, B, C) are Pinned.
| Operation | Result | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Drag E between B and C | A, B, C, E, D, F | AE goes to the beginning of the Unpinned list |
| Drag E between C and D | A, B, C, E, D, F | E goes exactly where it was dragged to |
| Drag E before A | A, B, C, E, D, F | E goes at the end of the Pinned list |
| Drag F between D and E | A, B, C, D, F, E | F goes exactly where it was dragged to |
| Drag A between C and D | B, C, A, D, E, F | A goes exactly where it was dragged to |
| Drag A between D and F | B, C, A, D, E, F | A goes to the end of the Pinned list |
| Drag A after F | B, C, A, D, E, F | A goes to the beginning of the Unpinned list |
| Right-click on A > Make Last | B, C, A, D, E, F | A becomes the last of the Pinned list |
| Right-click on C > Make Last OR Move Right | A, B, C, D, E, F | No effective change as C is Pinned |
| Right-click on C > Unpin | A, B, C, D, E, F | No change on the order but now C is Unpinned |
| Right-click on F > Pin | A, B, C, F, D, E | F is now Pinned and moved to the end of the Pinned list |
| Right-click on E > Move Left | A, B, C, E, D, F | E is moved one spot to the left |
The expressions the end of the Pinned list and the beginning of the Unpinned list represent the same exact location and may be used interchangeably.
