Line Plot Qwidget

The purpose of this qwidget is to display a chart with of data plot(as a line) of a telemetry data item.

The qwidget layout has three views:

  • Main View (Default view)
  • Delete Menu
  • Settings Menu

Main View

On opening the qwidget, this view is displayed. This viewing window has the following main elements.

  • A Data Plot Chart
  • Legend

Data Plot Chart

  • This Chart is used to display the plot of streaming data of the selected telemetry data item of the vehicles selected.
  • The X axis of the Chart denotes the timestamp value range of the streaming data.
  • The Y axis of the Chart denotes the selected telemetry data item's value range.
  • The chart is clicked and dragged to zoom in. Double-clicking on the chart will zoom out.Shift-drag will pan the chart.

Legend

This is displayed below the X axis, only when data is streaming. Following are displayed in the legend.

  • Selected vehicle name
  • Data plot line color
  • X and Y axis values of the data point selected by hovering on the data point.

Delete Menu

This menu can be viewed by clicking the trash icon on the qwidget header.This menu has yes and no buttons.This menu is used to delete the qwidget from the dashboard.

Settings Menu

This menu is used to set any telemetry data item. The telemetry data item is selected from the data menu.

This menu can be viewed by clicking the settings button(cog icon) on the qwidget header.This menu has the following main elements.

  • Input field to select telemetry data item.
  • Select Vehicle dropdown
  • Save and Close buttons

Data Selection

Input Description: The input can be any one telemetry data item from the data tree of the data menu.

Input Value: Can be any one data item from the data tree which is not a category or a sub category.

Input Order: No order

Required: This input field requires one input.The select vehicle dropdown requires atleast one vehicle to be selected.

The following section(Select Data) explains how to select the data from the data menu.

Select Data:

  • Click on the input field below select data label. This will open the data menu(left navigation menu) on the dashboard.
  • Traverse through the data tree in the data menu(or search using the search bar) and select any input value.

Vehicle Selection

The following three points describe how to select a vehicle from the select vehicle dropdown list.

  1. This is a dropdown which displays all the vehicles available for a mission with checkboxes and color picker(to denote the line color in the chart)
  2. After data is selected and applied in the input field, this dropdown list has the checkbox enabled for the list item which displays the vehicle name of the selected telemetry data item.
  3. The user can enable additional vehicles from this dropdown menu to compare data plots of different vehicles for a single telemetry data item.

Save

This is used to save the parameters set in the select data input field and select vehicle dropdown. The telemetry data item from the data tree must be selected, applied and then saved.The required condition above should be satisfied to be saved.On successful save, the qwidget layout changes from settings menu to main view layout displaying the line plot for the selected telemetry data item for the vehicles enabled in the select vehicle dropdown. On failure, an alert box is displayed showing the error message.

Close

This is used to close the settings menu and view the main layout.Any changes made before close are lost if not saved.
