Getting started

Before you begin:

Get the AMLEngine DLLs

There are various sources to get the required dlls for the AutomationML Engine.

  • For the latest official release of the AMLEngine including additional sources like a short tutorial and some example solutions go to AutomationML.
  • For the latest committed build and a direct installation of the AMLEngine in your solution go to nuget. To install AMLEngine, run the following command in the Package Manager Console: Install-Package AMLEngine
  • The AMLEngine resources and the version history of the Engine is also available from the projects website on GitHub.

Step by step

  1. Include references to the AMLEngine DLLs in your project.
  2. Create a CAEXDocument (a new empty document or from an existing source)
  3. Read Data from the CAEXDocument.

Start wit the CAEXFile-Root object to browse the content of the file: CAEXFile

See code example: Traversing a Document with the CaexFile

  4. Write Data to the CAEXDocument.

Select the CAEXElement which you want to change. Use a method to insert a new child element, for example: New_InternalElement.

  5. Save Changes of the CAEXDocument to a file with: SaveToFile.

See code example: Saving a Document
