Prefetch Files

Location: C:\Windows\Prefetch

Proves file usage

File extension is .PF

Naming for prefetch files is APPLICATIONNAME.exe-hexidecimalhash.pf

Most of the time there is only one file per application but if the same application is ran from two different location there will be two files. Shortcuts do not create a separate prefetch files.

Prefetch is usually disabled on SSDs and in Servers.
